some knows where i could find the house that pat arquette is sticking i would like to have it, i already saw it on eBay but i dont find it anymore i dont know what to write exactly to fall on it!!!
@69crafty A friend of mine helped with the special effects on him. The actor that portrayed Phillip was shy about baring his feet. I was with my friend that first day and assured him his feet looked great...just for self confidence. He took care of them and had smooth soles.
@socalman08 I read on the IMDB that the film was originally an X and was cut down to make it an R. You wouldn't happen to know what was cut out...? I've always wondered that. I saw some behind-the-scenes footage where it looks like they were planning on making Taryn's eye pop out during her death. Did it have something to do with that?
@musicfan12647 They edited out some of the more gruesome tortures Freddy handed his victims...like talking decapitated heads, grinding limbs and body in grinder etc. At the time, R ratings and X ratings were used for blood and guts...the more gory, the MPAA rated it down to an X.
The bloody tendons and veins coming out of Phillip's hands and feet were toned down a bit too. He was in make-up for over 4 hours and in bare feet at that. He was a good sport.
I already have carpophobia (fear of veins and wrists) and now this? I just wanted to know what the music in the background was when phillip was walking down the hall........
This was the last Elm St to have that creepy gritty 80s feel to it, not even The Dream Master could create this kind of atmosphere and that was made in 88. Freddy still has the best make-up too, he looks ok I guess in part 4, but then after that they got real lazy. In my opinion this is the best death of the whole series because it's just so sadistic, evil and very disturbing.
I was a huge fan of Freddy Krueger in the '80s when I was a kid...all of the '80s Nightmare movies are the best compared to the more recent ones...Freddy's make-up in the '90s+ movies looks so fake and rubbery...
This scene was so scary back in the day...those veins coming out of his body...it's still extreme and scary-looking today...
Phillip's parents must have done something horrible to Freddy while he was still a living human being. Why else would Freddy be so ruthless and brutal to Phillip? One of his most sadistic kills.
Still one of the most grusome deaths I've ever seen in a movie. I remember when I first saw this, I was terrified of sharp objects cutting me for the next week.
@AlexandraFergy1998 you pretty much are missing out, this is a really good watch, the humor is better mixed with the horror in this film and this should have been the second nightmare in my opinion.
dont watch the second one after this one, it would ruin it.
This is my favorite movie, I love Dream Warriors! The deaths from 1, 2 , and 3 create a sadness you feel that no other horror movie can make you feel, you really feel for the kids, and this was my favorite group, poor Phillip
the thing is when we see him in the real world sleep walking, you`d see the cuts on his arms (like in the deaths in the previous films) but we don`t see any which has always baffeld me.
I feel bad for Phillip :( But the thing is, Freddy killed the teenagers in the 1st movie because their parents killed him. I don't like how he kills random kids now. But at least they're creative, including this one. Ouch :(
@nyblusaiyan Freddy Kruegers dream powers have some effect on the real world as well, even when he is dragged into the real world he still has some power too (as seen in Nightmare 2).
the thing that always gets with this series is that these kids REALLY suffer, yet no one can ever see it. chilling. imagine being in that kind of predicament....
@Yeaster I agree. Metaphorically all teens suffer some way, some how. Wes Craven used to say in his interviews something along the lines of,
"I always attribute negligence to the pain these kids feel, just like in real life. And the way this "invisible" killer always gets away with it, and getting someone to listen to them is just impossible."
my fav.scene from dream warriors, especially when it hits 2:04 you can really feel that old school horror haha. awesome stuff!!! i love robert englund's laugh right after he cuts phillips strings =)
@frankiemendiola89, this one and the Original Nightmare on lm street were the only ones that were truly scary, the rest were all comedy/horror, mostly comedy.
He's as cute as his death is horrifying.
