Cut the bottom of the concrete wire to make "prongs" to stick into the ground, then place stakes opposite each other for further reinforcement. Hope this helps!

I live in Texas. Those tomato cages look like concrete reinforcement wire. Cheaper at DIY or lumber yard store. This is what most Texans use. Cow panels are good for a sturdy trellis.

just to mention you can buy texas tamato cage for much cheaper then the $25 on the sign there,i bought 6 large for $100,plus shipping/also they fold up flat when not in use which is good for off season storage.they have a video on youtube.

The only sad part is that they hold this event in 5-7 locations around California....except in the Sacramento area....(or Sacratomato since its the tomato capitol) I will have 40-60 tomato plants this year and this event would have been very nice to go to. I as well mostly use Indeterminate since we still can get fruit into November.

I've never grown or even seen a full grown tomato plant.. but i bought a 6 pack of cherry tomatoes no idea if they are terminate or not.. I have no idea how to care for them other then what i've seen in your videos. I was going to just prop it up as I thought they needed it.. all 6 of them are between 1 foot and 2.5 feet tall right now. o_o

We bought cages last year (small ones - not like the TX cages you showed) and they were a total waste of money. I'm interested to see what you're doing.

We were going to "expand" the diameter of the cages we used last year, but after talking it over with sage, we decided just to reuse the cages from last year. look at my old videos for pictures. They are just galvenized fence rolled up. 6' high was best. look up the video tomato canopy

I grew Oregon Spring last summer. It grows amazingly well but the taste was flat and empty. One of the few tomatoes that I actually wanted to spit out. Bummer too because they grew so nicely.

I've got 4 of those spirals. First time using them. Got a couple of the Texas style cages that a neighbor made from concrete reinforcement wire. I love the field trips you take me on. :)
