Both lead guitar players play Gibson guitars with humbuckers into Marshall Plexi heads and Marshall cabs. Both use the Pentatonic scale almost exclusively in their solo work. And both can shred.

No, Berton Averre uses a Les Paul and Fender Vibroking or a Vox, depending on the time, and Angus uses a Gibson SG and Marshals. Anyone with a shred playing knowledge knows the sound is waaay different between a LP and an SG.

Angus does kick ass, but Berton is a helluva guitar player. Don't just listen to My Sharrona, listen to some of their other songs like Baby Talks Dirty.

Don't get me wrong AC/DC kicks serious ass, but the two styles are just way different.

AC/DC definitely has outlasted The Knack, surviving the death of their lead singer, and both have at least one catchy, annoying hit...but AC/DC has tons of songs that are crap, but people hold on to the classic era of their work and keep buying their stuff, whereas the Knack disappeared....so I guess I'd have to go with the AC/DC just because they're still pumping out records as shite as they might be.

I totally have to agree with Lumpy63, there is no way to compare rock music and newwave. but if i do, i'd go with The Knack. In their style, they were bold and apart from the crowd. ACDC was the same style, color and taste as Led Zeppelin, Kiss and so many. The knack offers a great english guitar sound, very good bass and rythm and distinctive lead voice using vocal performance borrowing to groups ranging from Queen to The beatles.

ACDC cant compare to that.
