  • Is it good to plant corruption everywhere? :D

  • u remind me of Dom joley of Trigger happy TV, well u sound like him, especially when he uses his fake accent. its not a bad thing lol

Also great video, and awesome house/castle/whatever.

And i just got terreria and wonder how u play online?? is it the same as minecraft where u have to maek your own server?

  • You could also combine alchemy and crafting by simply putting a bottle on a craftbench.

And yeah, the purple grass at the top of that building is corruption, the blueish grass below was a mushroom farm. It also looked to be purposefully stunted?

  • Are you playing on a public server? I'd really love to join you and your friends ;-)

  • I'm sad, my computer says it can handle Terraria's graphics but it can't...

  • If you don't want to worry about zombies during a Blood Moon, build doors one block higher than the ground level outside your house. You and the NPCs can still go in and out (just jump over the block), but zombies can't break them down. It also gives you a block to knock them back onto and pin them in place if you decide to let them in to be killed.

  • I explored my first 12 corruption chasms without a grappling hook. Fun times. :)

  • Your voice is very relaxing to listen to.

  • Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial, I was wondering about this game. I'm probably going to buy it because of this video :D

  • it would be cool to see you make a lets play seriese of this like the dwarf fortress lets play, and it would be good to see you make some epic buildings

  • So where'd that zombie that fell on your head come from? The shaft was blocked. Is it like Minecraft (again) in that monsters will spawn anywhere, and he spawned under your house?

I'm guessing they don't spawn in a house with back walls. That would give the back walls a purpose beyond pure aesthetics.

  • @thebigJ1er Yep thats correct. Enemies usually spawn offscreen, in the dark. The top of that shaft was offscreen, and in the dark, and it had no back walls, so there.

  • @captnduck Enemies don't spawn "in the dark". You can have pitch black rooms, as long as you built a back wall in the room, no monsters will ever spawn (teleporting enemies can still teleport inside, though!).

  • @Vingdoloras

This is true, they seem to spawn even from a crack between two different background walls. Also underground spots with dirt background allow enemies to spawn, I learned the same lesson digging shafts straight down.

  • I noticed when I was playing earlier today.. that when I put a 'candle' on a table, it allowed me to create a pair of goggles from two lens. I... noticed your 'fancy' world didn't have a candle on a table anywhere.. but I also noticed you can place a candle on top of your workbench... can you put a bottle on top of it too? I didn't know about the alchemy table till I watched this video.

  • There's no shame in comparing this game to minecraft. You would have to be blind to miss the similarities.

They both stand on their own ofcouse but a comparison is merely a comparison.

  • Good game! I love it.

  • Grats on 100 videos!

  • <3 the funny accent dude XD It's "care" not pronounced as in ch just as in c :)

  • @HandOfCode Yeah yeah i know. I forget at times.

  • Thank you for convincing me to buy this game.

  • Lol 3 out of all my subscriptions have already made videos about this game and I think those 3 are almost all who actively make gaming videos to youtube from my subcriptions. :D

  • NPCs decrease spawning around you. You mentioned how the guide partially stops monsters from spawning, well in my house I have a merchant, a demolitionist, and the guide. The monster spawn around my house is practically nil...

  • This game looks so fantastic. TO STEAM! <3

  • I wanna get this game so bad!

  • It seems like the doors on the flat areas are specifically spaced to stop your Hermes Boots activating :(

  • Wow, what a nice surprise to see a tutorial series starting up on this! Thanks for the effort, should be rather nifty when all is said and done.

  • at 25:15 he says the purple stuff is corruption, but I think it might be glowing mushroom grass that the glowing mushrooms sprout from. I could be wrong.

  • @tehdelicatepuma It's corruption. I planted a corruption seed there in the tower made by one of my friends.

  • YAY captnduck!

  • I almost want to say you cheated on your first toon, but you prob server'd it to epicness... super jelly you have hellstone stuff :<

  • @kenshin98899889 It has taken many deathly trips to get all that hellstone. Must have died atleast 20 times. Having a shaft straight down really helps.

  • @captnduck D: That woulda taken SOOOO long, did you do that online at least? Playing solo sucks, as I'm rapidly finding out (at least for the hard stuff like hell world and the dungeon)

  • @kenshin98899889 nah helltsone bars are a pain to collect (also obsidian) but i also got a full set in just 13 hours of gameplay.

  • THIS GAME WAS MADE FOR CAPTNDUCK

  • If you die you drop one of every kind of coin you have as I know.

  • YESS CAPTAIN DUCK!

  • YES! If anyone could do a quality Let's Play / tutorial of Terraria, it's you. Wheeee!

  • glad to have you back, cpt duck.
