when i'm making this i'm like, oh yah, i can totally create my own origami, doesn't look too hard, but then, after 3 hours of fiddling, i'm left with a pile of crumpled paper that looks like my dog sat on it :(

I figured out how to make the box small enough for the lid to fit over the top. Make sure that first valley golf after the bird base is done is about 1/8" away from the "X" guide creace. It determines the width of the box.

My lid won't fit over my box...too small ! What might I be doing wrong? Please advise me in an email that would be super nice!

@stanimatorblue at 19:10 dont fold it all the way up. if you do so the lid wont fit. but if you fold it too long away from the referance point it will be to loose. so add between 2-4 millimeters of space from the referance point (: i like to make it tight fitting

I did it with 15x15 cm papers, and found the details still quite manageable.
