Henry was bastard I understand he was unfaithful to Katherine of Aragon becouse he didn't choosed her for the wife and he didn't love her but I feel sorry for Katherine of Aragon becouse she loved him and she was faithful to him very much. But I don't undertsand his unfaithfuless to Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour becouse I believe he loved them and he choosed them for wives himself.
Futhermore has anyone ever thought about Henry VIII:
HOW THE HELL CAN THIS GUY NOT GET AN STD FROM SLEEPING AROUND WITH SOOO MANY WOMEN?!?!
I mean he suffers medically from a bad leg wound from a jousting accident; but he can't catch anything from woman some of which have already lost their virginity???
@ShellzStarz718 i believe he did catch something. i remember reading somewhere that he had his codpeices made extra large so they wouldn't chafe his johnson...
You know just because this show portrays Henry VIII as the hottest sexiest king that I've ever laid my eyes on, but the fact that he's still a countless womanizer and man-whore makes me mad.
I mean the real historical Henry was a fatass with a shit smelling leg....GOSH... this is how some guys are today.
(No offense to JRM..he's a brilliant actor and verry sexy man)
In that time, the king had the right to take a Mistress when the queen was pregnant.
Don´t forgett, that Jane was his Mistress, too. He took her, when Anne Boelyn was pregnant with the thirth child, which she lost when she saw Henry kissing Jane.
So don´t think, Henry is an ass while he did the thing that was normal at that time for a king.
So its okay for the "king" to sleep with whomever he wishes nd if his wife does, its treason? Why doesnt he step into in his wives shoes nd see how it feels. Adultery is wrong yeah i know. But if i man can and he is not punished.. The king's own frnds nd servants "hook" him up then why not a woman? Ego. Its so sad.. He was never a humanist.. Henry viii. He was evil. Nd uncaring. All he wanted was a son. Reading bout henry nd knwing his countless mistresses... (censored) didnt he ever grow tired
@codebreaker7777 I agre with you completely. I just don't understand why he can take so many mistresses and if one of his wives cheats on him is commiting a monstrous crime when he has always been unfaithful. Furthermore, there is the question about love. Henry was said to be in love with Jane but then why he had to cheat on her? Well, at least in the TV show, 'cause I think that the character of Lady Ursula was fictional, right?
Well it was claimed there were many brief affairs he had. But the different of bessie Blount and mary boleyn it was an on going affair for years and, he had bastarded children with both. Though only showed bessie's son henry as his.
@Caughtinbadromance ifyou read biograpies about him he did have numerous one night stands and mistress but non of them lasted like elizabeth blount mary or annebolyn. he got bored with them quickly or only wanted them for a night
@Caughtinbadromance He was a womaniser. Mistresses or not. And a murderer, and a rapist lover, and a cheat, liar and a host of other things that I can't think of right now.
@misteeq64 elizabeth "bessie" blount, henry's first "official" mistress while he was still married to caherine of aragon. befor maryand anne bolyen became his mistresses
At first it felt strange to see two frivolous women in one season (Ursula Misseldon and Anne Stanhope). Then I noticed, that it didn't feel nothing to see many men behave like that (Henry and Charles for instance). In any case, she's boring and they could have shown Jane more. Really, I could have watched the first episode of season 3 without seeing her boobs and I'd have enjoyed it even more than I did now!
What a line. If I were her, I'd be like "Well, I HOPE I'm more beautiful than your captains, you ass." But then, one must keep one's head when around Henry! Lol!
seem to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest with my comments it seems, lots of red 's LOL well, nothing like a good discussion - and I hod to what I say - I still say Henry did what royal protocol dictated and took a mistress near to Jane's time.

Urgh i hate Ursula, or Ulcer as i like to call her. She's an Anne wannabe slut and is hell ugly too. Come on Henry, if you're gonna cheat on your beautiful wife at least cheat on her with someone who's a bit more pretty!
Worst idea of the Tudors show! Henry had no mistresses while married to Jane, even when she was pregnant there is no record of him cheating on her.
Ursula Missledon was pointless character who took up air-space in an already short season. The writers could've done so much better than this...like more scenes with Jane, you know, the Queen! And no offense to Charlotte Salt, but her acting was quite flat, which made it even worse.
The truth of the matter is, that unlike today , where we know that marital relations are okay on the whole during a normal and healthy pregnancy, in this era they did not. And it was expected that a husband - be he a king or not, would seek his pleasures elsewhere, as they feared that they would cause harm to the child , miscarraige or stillbirth. There was also the element of such relations at such a time being seen as morally wrong. The chances that Henry took a mistress are highly likely,
Well, not everything is written down , and its highly probable he did indeed take a mistress as Jane neared her time - its is after all, historically a royal tradition. Also, I have to disagree with you, as it has been said that he did take a mistress in the form of one of Janes attendents, but there is no name given, and this was whilst she was with child - so , whilst you can find no documentation, doesnt mean there isnt any. And the general historical opinion is that he did take one .

To add to my previous reply LNor19, it is with Catherine Howard that he definately is known historically not to have taken any mistresses, and not Jane.
Good grief, - it matters not whether he did or did not, point is, not everything is always known to all and I am entitled to my own thoughts on the matter, I am inclined to think that he did - and like i say, we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this - and as you wernt there, nor I , niether of us can say DEFINATELY that he did or did not - its likely - especially when Jane was near to term - was the usual practice - and that is DEFINATELY well documented !

It may be documented with his other wives, but it is not with Jane. For whatever reason, Henry took a different route with Jane. Also none of the courtiers or ambassadors, or anyone in court for that matter even mention a mistress during Jane's pregnancy, or their marriage for that matter.
Yes, you are entilted to your opinions, I'm just letting you know what the historical facts say. I apoligize for coming of strong.
Thats okay, its just that i have seen docmentaries where it stated that there were rumours that Henry did infact take one of Janes attending ladies during her confinement - dont forget, noble women of that era went into confinement for 6 weeks before the birth and 6 weeks before being churched - during that time they werent even supposed to be visited by thier husbands - thats a full quater of a year without having marital relations, so he may well have, but its not formally documented .
"Does your Majesty wish me to stay ?" LOL errrrrr - well what do you think ! not like Henry to say no, and I notice she doesnt wait for a reply, If i remember what i read correctly - it was specified that, all the Queen's ladies had to be fair to look at, they were chosen , not just for thier rank, but for how they looked. As for Henry, well, of course he's going to say to the ladies he takes that he wished he'd met them before his marriage, else they may not be so willing, talk about crafty
lol i loved the tudors with anne boleyn in it their passiion wasnt uncensored and u cud literally like see the desire, and then they go and censor everything.... lame!
In so many ways, Henry was just utterly pathetic. He didn't need a mistress for goodness sake. Be happy with the lady that you have. Then again, what does Jane expect? Just take a look at Henry's history with his past wives.
Henry only had 3 mistresses and his flings shouldn't be mistaken as such. Sex back then was like going to the picturs and was a way to pass the time and shouldn't be attached to love. It was viewed as a physicall need with little or no emotion attached in most cases. As for loving Jane Henry loved all his wives in some way and Jane has two things going for her ,She gave him his prince and died before he could get boared. Pembrokescouse
