The suicide attempt scene already makes me cringe but this scene sums up even better why I hate the 1st movie . It's completely bleak and depressive . Riggs is a mental wreck on the verge of suicide and Murtaugh doesn't trust him ,doesn't help him and just feel sorry for his own ass. That's one the greatest paradox of movie history : this franchise is pretty much the poster of the buddy movie . Yet the 1st volume is the exact opposite of everything a buddy movie should be.
