I totally agree with you! Unfortunately Bruce didn't stayed for the "meet and greet" after the show, so I didn't meet him, but that only means that I have to keep going!!! :-) Oh, the torture!!! :-D :-D
he often complains of a sore throat though bless the guy, ive met runrig in 2003 at newcastle city hall, nice bunch of guys anyway you'll enjoy it, seeing them this friday coming but not meeting them this time though unfortunately, really hope you do get to meet him
where are you from then? Been up to Portreee though myself to see what their singing about in their songs n stuff really wanna see Clachan village though now sooo much, thats where rory and calum live.
I'm from Romania, Eastern Europe... I too wanted to see the places they sing about and last summer I toured the Outer Hebrides and Skye for 3 weeks, it was amazing!!! Scotland is beautiful!
ah thats really cool!! Yea both sides of my family im very proud to say originated in scotland, my Grans surname like came from the borders surname Bruce, same clan as the clan that robert the bruce would have been part of, he was a friend of William Wallace, my grandads both on my dads side is Smith, means Gow in gaelic part of the MacGowan clan, even though every clan had their smiths by being blacksmiths, had their own clan from around Loch Lomond.
Kind of cool? I'll say!! You have a very talented cousin, amazing songwriter managing a solo career and Runrig in the same time... Do you know of Runrig?
Never heard of them. This is one of the first times I have ever checked out his music. There we three brothers that came over from Europe, and along the way a lot of them migrated to the States, down through Michigan, and a lot ended up in Missouri. Most of our family came over from France (hence the french last name, but the Irish blood took over our family with a quickness). Irish with a French last name. Now me, I am half Irish half Korean.
im a mega fan of Malcolm Jones their lead guitarist also a multi instrumentalist love bruce and great big sea though, just couldnt resist explaining myself twice haha sorry for the 2 replies but wanted to reply, Runrig started back in 1973 as The Run Rig Dance Band first gig at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow as a 3 peice scots dance band and i love them!
Sadly i haven´t seen Runrig with Bruce , only with Donnie Munro..but Bruce has breathed a hurricane of fresh air into the band and took them to a younger audience ...anyway Bruce , you play in Denmark a lot , any chance of crossing the bridge and travelling up Sweden , a town called Boden in the far ,far North would be just fine ..and bring the Runrig guys with you and do a midnight sun concert at boden Arena ..please ..bummer , i had to beg :-)
Are you going to Runrig concerts then? Yes, jealous!! I only get to go to the one in Edinburgh and I can't wait! You have to PM me and tell me all about afterwards!! You are lucky, at least Denmark is RR's stamping ground! I live in Eastern Europe, lol!
This must be at the Tønder Festival??

This was at the Tønder festival in southern Denmark. Either he or Runrig play most years. Best folk festival in europe
