giorgio is a great fighter, but his record is very padded with decisions in Italy against non Italians. Im not saying he would have lost all of those fight but if it is close in Italy he always gets the nod. i also definitely thought he lost against Buakaw. Buakaw landed more shots and they were more powerful.. he didn't loose by much but he still lost. Buakaw has a good record as a thai fighting other thais in the mecca of Muay Thai i.e. Thailand. plus a good record against foreigners.

There's nothing wrong with Kickboxing. In almost every sport, people complain that it's in a shitty position at the moment. People just plain like to bitch and moan. There is no "prime" in kickboxing. Petrosyan fought a few years after Buakaw. He fought a close battle against him with little experience. He has dominated people Buakaw has beaten and lost to. Petrosyan > Buakaw.

@crowley0312 dude, Buakaw is more famous in Japan becasue he's a frickin muay thai fighter who change to K-1 fighters and beat every top ten guys at that time (all of them are in their prime). There's prime in every sport, and Buakaw is now almost out of his prime. and all the guys in Buakaw's era who Petro have beaten are way out of their prime. Andy Souwer? Albert Kraus? Mike Zambidis? Buakaw beats all of this guys in their prime, but Petro has born a little too late I suppose.

@DrJinIchi Who're the top 10? Anyway, I think that everyone's just figured Buakaw out. Souwer was only 27 and coming off several impressive wins. Sato just knocked out Buakaw and was a huge favorite to win. Both fought Petro in K-1 Final. Kraus's losses to Petrosyan were his only losses within a three year range. Zamb, and everyone else, fought him in K-1. So they were all at their best game. Just because Buakaw fought first doesn't mean they're past prime.

Who do you think have more fans? I don't even count the number of all Thai people who consider him hero. Between Muay Thai in Thailand and Kickboxing in Italy which one is bigger?

@DrJinIchi Buakaw is a legend and I like him too. K-1 isn't over, it's just getting new managment. We won't know the difference. People freak out over the financial issues to much. People say boxing is dying all the time but it never does. Muay Thai is the #1 sport in Thailand. Not Petrosyan's fault it's not where he's from. But he is an idol to every Armenian and Italian that goes into the ring. Buakaw can be more popular, but Petrosyan is the better fighter.

maybe is he is very small for this class..but in tha past he has knocked out guys who was 20cm taller than him..he Problem in K1 is that the Refs pause the acions too fast..and especially the japanese guys..the 2 defeats against japanese was by points..but for sure zambidis was the better fighter...many people see zambo as the best puncher in K1 and his opponents try to conter him out cause in an open fight every fighter will loose against him..except Pramuk he has the best legs in the world...
