The Swinging Blue Jeans recorded it in 1963, the Beatles actually released it in 1964. But, it was writen by a guy from Montana, named Bob "Chan" Romero in 1959, he recorded it with Del-Phi records and toured around America playing it for a few years. His Manager sold it to a guy in England who gave it to The Swinging Blue Jeans. I don't believe the Beatles ever acquired the rights. Poor Chan never got any royalties from either of them. Pretty par for the course back then.
@Tomylonely The Beatles didn't write it but they did it live in the clubs before they got famous. The Swinging Blue Jeans did it becuase it went down so well for The Beatles and they weren't doing a recording of it.
Not even close! This was written and recorded by Chan Romero in 1959. And, heck, even the Beatles covered this song about 6 months before the Swinging Blue Jeans in 1963 :)
They have this cool thing now called the "Internet." You can use it to find out all sorts of things, including facts about obscure music recording artists.
Chan Romero wrote and first recorded the song in 1959. I believe the Beatles (they might have still been called "The Quarrymen" at the time) were the first to cover the song in 1960.
Abit too fast n aggresif heavy like Gun n Roses type... can't hear the Rock Rolling drumming beat, Bass n Lead melody clearly... i think slow down a bit n play like n original old style is better ;)

The original version was done by Chad Romero in 1959. The Swinging Blue Jeans version was released 4 years later in 1963.

Their version is great, but who originally did this song? Does anyone know? I know it was by some band in the 60's.....
