I don't usually hear so much fire in this piece. Mostly, it gets played very technically, but these two were passionate (and even playful). Beautiful.
Natürlich ist das nicht perfekt, aber erfüllter und phantasievoller kann man nicht musizieren, und da ist mir der ganze Perfektionismus schlicht und ergreifend Wurscht.
I wouldn't have guessed Perlman and Zukerman because...oh i don't know...each pair has their own distinct sound? amateur ears can be a painful thing to hear about.
I can imagine all the people hating on these guys in the comments section as either old hags who no one visits anymore or young idiots who think they know everything there is about stringed instruments. I laugh as I can see that you guys just sat through watching a whole video JUST to nitpick little things like the little pricks you are. LOL I liked it.
What's appreciated is constructive criticism people, not insults. I'm sure of it.
Congratulations, Mr. Whitener (tubawunderkind), on your recent job win. I am a great fan of your playing and wish you all the best. I hope you bring more class to the Royal Scottish than you have brought to this comment board.
Absolutely gorgeous......sigh. Wonder how large this viola is? It's so clean without overpowering the violin. I love the way they interpret this piece.
OMG! Maxim Vengerov and Lawrence power got dark. dang this is SOOO good. I want to go practice now but i can't stop listening. this has made my day. I am gunna be this good after i get these etudes done lol.
That ending... the last chords, the expression on their faces... that's what makes music so amazing, not just to musicians, but the listeners as well.
so i'm actually about 2 cry right now..why? idk..i seriously feel soo much emotion listening to this..and i've listened 2 it about 20 times in a row now:) def feel the passion. I play cello, and my sister plays violin...and i think this will be the next thing we work on...btw my sister did Sphinx, and she "knows" the 2 of u...she went on the Sphinx tour this past yr also. Thanks for ur music...its very encouraging, and makes me want 2 work even harder in my studies as a cello performance major.
Well, I'm glad I "know" these guys too!! They came to visit my school here in Memphis some months ago!! I had a great time listenin to the Harlem Quartet. And... I really don't want to brag, but I was so excited that day! I got their AUTOGRAPHS!1 yay, never will forget that day. =D
no, no, no, no... i had to say something else: it is just beautiful and inspiring to see the connection you have with Ilmar... now, that's what's called a duet!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!
wow. just, wow.

@1701Sisko Tempo is suggested by the composer, but entirely up to the players.

@moldyoreo personally, I thought pizzicato section's phrasing was appropriately and cleverly expressive

@tubawunderkind You're too kind. They suck, period. Perhaps if they had other things to offer than looking smug when playing they'd be half decent.

I used to play the tuba but I had to quit due to intonation issues in the fast passages. I was insulting Tommy Johnson and the music for Jaws.
