Chrono looks like Goku because Akira Toriyama did the art for both series. Ayla = Android 18 and Luca = Bulma. There's even some old DBZ sound effects reused in this intro...@ 2:00 when Chrono jumps, @ 2:17 again and when Marle and Luca use their magic it's the same as a DBZ ki blast. And then when Chrono slices the snake in half, it sounds like zanzoken (the technique when the Z characters move so fast it leaves an image behind, or looks like they're teleporting).

I never played the PSX version of Chrono Trigger, but this intro definitely does justice to what I believe to be THE single greatest SNES, or, perhaps even 16-bit, title ever created. The game makes a strong case for classifying video/computer games as art, and it did it all on that little, living room floor(or shelf)-mounted wunderkind of a 16-bit computer we lovingly know as the Super Nintendo. If only Square were still around today... Squeenix isn't at all what good, old SquareSoft was. :/

Wow this intro is just like the game, CLASSIC! I love the parts where they show Chrono with all the different callbs in teams. When I picture the fighting in my head its very similar to how they protrayed it. Gives me shivers, it was a great game! Give it up for Akira, always comming through w. decent battle scenes

@seanileus I do know, and I still complain about it. but that's mostly because Crono looks too much like Goku (even though those designs don't match my mental image of Crono) and I've gotten tired of his character designs after seeing so many episodes of DB and playing so many Dragon Quests. His characters just don't have enough variation.
