MORAL: If a vulnerable road user refuses to stop for a simple traffic citation, call off the pursuit, take down the number plate and call round the rider's house later to issue the ticket.
People who comment on these videos are daft. You don't know any facts. Was the cop in the wrong lane or did he try to avoid the biker who was in the wrong lane? Either way the biker was running away from the police and should have known there would be other cops. It would have made more sense to just pull over and stop. Not only is the biker at fault. The accident took place in oncoming traffic. He had plenty of room to the right where he should have been and not to mention he should have just pulled over. I have no sympathy for people like this who end up killing themselves. I only have a problem when a cop is truly at fault regarding a motor bike accident.

Here we have two guys make a choice to fly through subdivisions at high speed to out run cops. You have your family coming home after kids where picked up from school. A normal day until these two idiots come flying around the corner & hit their car killing your two kids. This could have easily happened. I ride sports bikes. Yes, it was in the oncoming lane, but the angle of the vehicle clearly shows the officer was in the wrong lane just prior to the collision. The biker had nowhere to go. Was he wrong? yes. Did he deserve to die because of it? no. I mean no angst. I just felt I should clarify my opinion.

@Luv9movee They tried banning high speed chases were I live, bt that wasn't good. When they did that, the number of people that would refuse to stop for the police esculated. Main reason was the drivers knew the police couldn't chase. They wisefully cancelled the no-chase policy. The police should have never moved this "kid"-and they,too, were reckless teenagers. The fire was out- only if it was likely to explode was the only time a victim should be removed... Even then as gently as possible! By moving him without keeping his spine in line he could have ended up a para(or quadra)olefin.And moving someone,who may have fractures(without splinting) can cause hemorrhage!

Also read the story with it.....The motorcycle rider flew over the squad car and landed on the other end of it. Toward the end of the video you see the State Patrol standing at the back of the squad car talking to the kid telling him not to move.

Its on him for not stopping and the officers were following procedure. the shitty part is that the officers didnt get a plate and weren't able to just blow it off and let him go. If they would have known who the rider was they could have called it off. Its just shitty that a 20 year old kid had to die, know your facts.

The motorcycle, if it had been going the speed limit, could have gone around the squad car. Its called a compelling path. Oh, and don't forget..the motorcycle could have stopped at anytime during the chase.
Hey, no one forced the bikers to flee from law enforcement..they made that choice themselves. They should have stopped when they saw the red lights and the worst thing that would have happened is an arrest (book and release) and/or citation. But they chose to thumb their nose at the laws enacted by the elected officials, NOT COPS! Cops, unfortunately have to enforce the laws that tool sheds like this guy CHOSE to ignore. And the cop didn't ram him. He simply could have gone around the squad car.

On the job alot of bikers do stupid stuff in front of cops, things that can be avoided like speeding, dui, driving on one wheel, operating on the wrong side of the road, not wearing eye protection. I have no problems with bikers that obey the law. I had a biker thought it was no big deal driving 19 over as he headed downtown another said he shouldnt of stopped for me because I wrote him a ticket for speeding. I do not see any skid marks from the bike, and he was hit in an oncoming lane, I'd say that the cop, or any other car in the lane would have the same result, a head on collision, the same kind of reckless driving that the biker was trying to be stopped for. The police car is barely across the center line with the tail end pointing slightly toward the middle. It is a more likely scenario that the impact of the bike moved the cruiser back & across the line.
And before anyone tries to argue 'no way', go study physics. Velocity greatly multiplies impact force. A sport bike at high speed could easily move a cruiser, even if parked.

My was running form cops on his bike and cop remmed him with his car. In the court cop said that the my friend lost control and fell.. But the judge requested a video from that cops car and the video clearly showed how cop remmed him. The cop was fired. Judge should of send him to jail for attempted murder.

his motorcycle and hit the cruiser without meaning to. your theory is sound by the evidence in the video posted but neither you, me, or anyone can really make an assumption on the actions of the deputy or the motorcycle rider without seeing the dash cam of the deputy involved in the accident. we can only make assumptions based on the aftermath shown in the video.
nydamc69- it is highly unlikely that what you stated is the case. no civil human being would want purposly killing a man to haunt him the rest of his days as i am sure is the case with the deputy. it is not uncommon for police officers to stop with their cars in both lanes with a pursuit coming at them. it's called a road block and there is nothing morally or procedurally wrong with that. it is also possible that the motorcycle rider seeing the road block made an error and lost control of

To any accident recontruction professional , it is ovious that the cruiser had merged directly in front on oncoming traffic , seeing this the motocyclist trying to avoid a head on tried to go in oncoming traffic but this officer wasn't going to allow that , thats why you see cruiser on an angle with the back still in the wrong lane . great catch officer .
You obviously know nothing about accident reconstruction. It's plain to see that the cyclist was in the wrong lane and hit the deputy's cruiser head-on, with the force of the impact knocking the cruiser partially into the other lane. No officer is going to purposely strike an oncomming vehicle head-on to stop it. My guess is that the kid who crashed was the one driving on the left of the two cycles as they were fleeing from the deputies. How many accident reconstructions have you done?
well, judging by the lack of skid-marks behind the cruiser, i'd say the cruiser was stopped for a road-block & the biker just couldn't stop in time. a head-on collision would have been an instant kill for the biker if the cruiser was moving toward him at the same speed.

The cop car is going to push the motorcycle, not the other way around. The cop car is like 6x the weight of the motorcycle. Use your brain before you post.

Here we have two guys make a choice to fly through subdivisions at high speed to out run cops. You have your family coming home after kids where picked up from school. A normal day until these two idiots come flying around the corner & hit their car killing your two kids. This could have easily happened. I ride sports bikes. I do not do stupid things like these two idiots. They got what they deserved!!

@MrSomeguy6969 For what it's worth, I agree the biker should've just pulled over. My comment was not in reference to the pursuing officer, but toward the officer with which the collision occured. Yes, it was in the oncoming lane, but the angle of the vehicle clearly shows the officer was in the wrong lane just prior to the collision. The biker had nowhere to go. Was he wrong? yes. Did he deserve to die because of it? no. I mean no angst. I just felt I should clarify my opinion.

I hate that "spell checker" on computers... In my last comment it was supposed to read: A paraplegic or quadriplegic. I know here , in Toronto,ON it's now against the law for cops to participate in high speed chases. It makes driver go faster and for a longer period. Too many other drivers were being " murdered"!

@Luv9movee They tried banning high speed chases were I live, bt that wasn't good. When they did that, the number of people that would refuse to stop for the police esculated. Main reason was the drivers knew the police couldn't chase. They wisefully cancelled the no-chase policy. Sorry, if your a dumbass that doesn't want to stop for the police, you accept all responsibility for what happens after your refusal to stop. Don't blame the police, blame the dumbass that won't pull over.

The police should have never moved this "kid"-and they,too, were reckless teenagers. The fire was out- only if it was likely to explode was the only time a victim should be removed... Even then as gently as possible! By moving him without keeping his spine in line he could have ended up a para(or quadra)olefin.And moving someone,who may have fractures(without splinting) can cause hemorrhage!

Also read the story with it.....The motorcycle rider flew over the squad car and landed on the other end of it. Toward the end of the video you see the State Patrol standing at the back of the squad car talking to the kid telling him not to move.

Its on him for not stopping and the officers were following procedure. the shitty part is that the officers didnt get a plate and weren't able to just blow it off and let him go. If they would have known who the rider was they could have called it off. Its just shitty that a 20 year old kid had to die, know your facts.

The motorcycle, if it had been going the speed limit, could have gone around the squad car. Its called a compelling path. Oh, and don't forget..the motorcycle could have stopped at anytime during the chase.

Hey, no one forced the bikers to flee from law enforcement..they made that choice themselves. They should have stopped when they saw the red lights and the worst thing that would have happened is an arrest (book and release) and/or citation. But they chose to thumb their nose at the laws enacted by the elected officials, NOT COPS! Cops, unfortunately have to enforce the laws that tool sheds like this guy CHOSE to ignore. And the cop didn't ram him. He simply could have gone around the squad car.

I have no problems with bikers that obey the law. The police car is barely across the center line with the tail end pointing slightly toward the middle. It is a more likely scenario that the impact of the bike moved the cruiser back & across the line.
And before anyone tries to argue 'no way', go study physics. Velocity greatly multiplies impact force. A sport bike at high speed could easily move a cruiser, even if parked.

My was running form cops on his bike and cop remmed him with his car. In the court cop said that the my friend lost control and fell.. But the judge requested a video from that cops car and the video clearly showed how cop remmed him. The cop was fired. Judge should of send him to jail for attempted murder.

Some of the idiotic comments below reveal why the USA fails today.... This stupid kid made his choice - he ran from the law and died doing it. The cops didn't make him run nor plow headfirst into the car - it was the kid's fault. It's called responsibility. Too many folks want to do what they want - right or wrong - and no ones going to tell them otherwise. RIP Kody - you chose poorly.

his motorcycle and hit the cruiser without meaning to. your theory is sound by the evidence in the video posted but neither you, me, or anyone can really make an assumption on the actions of the deputy or the motorcycle rider without seeing the dash cam of the deputy involved in the accident. we can only make assumptions based on the aftermath shown in the video.

nydamc69- it is highly unlikely that what you stated is the case. no civil human being would want purposly killing a man to haunt him the rest of his days as i am sure is the case with the deputy. it is not uncommon for police officers to stop with their cars in both lanes with a pursuit coming at them. it's called a road block and there is nothing morally or procedurally wrong with that. it is also possible that the motorcycle rider seeing the road block made an error and lost control of

lets b clear , the motocycle driver didn't crash into the cruiser , the cruiser raned head on into him on porpuse . To any accident recontruction professional , it is ovious that the cruiser had merged directly in front on oncoming traffic , seeing this the motocyclist trying to avoid a head on tried to go in oncoming traffic but this officer wasn't going to allow that , thats why you see cruiser on an angle with the back still in the wrong lane . great catch officer .

You obviously know nothing about accident reconstruction. It's plain to see that the cyclist was in the wrong lane and hit the deputy's cruiser head-on, with the force of the impact knocking the cruiser partially into the other lane. No officer is going to purposely strike an oncomming vehicle head-on to stop it. My guess is that the kid who crashed was the one driving on the left of the two cycles as they were fleeing from the deputies. How many accident reconstructions have you done?

well, judging by the lack of skid-marks behind the cruiser, i'd say the cruiser was stopped for a road-block & the biker just couldn't stop in time. a head-on collision would have been an instant kill for the biker if the cruiser was moving toward him at the same speed.
-& yes, there is no way the officer purposefully ran into the biker to stop him.. whoever wrote that is a tool.

@lkop09nowbterp : There is no way the motor cycle could have positioned the cop car there if the cop car was in his lane. Look at the angle of the cop car. The cop car is going to push the motorcycle, not the other way around. The cop car is like 6x the weight of the motorcycle. Use your brain before you post.

It's pretty amazing then "expert" how a moving cop car can balance a bike on it's bumper for several hundred feet AND keep all the wreckage in front/side of his cop car! If he was moving jackass all that junk would be behind him and the bike pushed out of the way. Darwin vs Kody = Darwin wins.
