That was not a dive. A dive involves, you know, actually falling down. If he wanted to sell it, like he used to, he would have actually fallen to the ice, not just fall to a knee and then immediately get up as if nothing happened.

Yeah, the nerve of Sid, hustling through center and trying to win the game and whatnot. Crosby had a step and was about to be solid gone when Straka took a piece of him. Crosby didn't have the puck. Straka hit him with the intent of obstructing his progress up ice. That's interference. Deal with it.

Listen, if Straka doesn't initiate the contact, there wouldn't have been a penalty call. And if Straka doesn't hit him, Sid is solid gone, likely creating an odd-man break. Save the tears.

I sat down with a severely retarded infant and we reviewed the video. Despite his malformed state, he was clearly able to conclude that this was a penalty. He did this by explaining the position of Straka's left leg, which kicked out Crosby's right leg as he moved forward. Since Crosby never fell, and the puck was not involved, this is an interference penalty, according to a severely retarded infant, and the NHL. Conclusion: if you don't think this was a penalty, you are an absolute moron.

Letting up a 3 goal lead vs. the best offense in the NHL doesn't mean that they automatically win the game. Hockey's about endurance, and when a game is tied 4-4 with 3 minutes remaining penalties are supposed to be rarely called, if your a referee you know this. Bottom line, referees are too conservative about rough play. This is HOCKEY and it should not be compared to baseball.

I know whenever I'm elbowed in the side I fall down. I also know that Crosby goes into traffic on a regular basis, and is still a bit nervous after that ankle injury. Did he embellish? Maybe, but the best the Rangers could've hoped for was a double penalty. This isn't the story here - it's not about a bad call here or there, it's about what the team makes of it, like the Sox in 05.
