I was in high school when Martial law was implemented. I recall the violent protest of the time and I was a witness to most of them because at the time, joining these rallies was just an excuse on my part to miss school. IMHO martial law did good the first 3 to 4 years because of the was able to calm things down a bit and help the economy recover. Too bad it ran too long and people found ways to abuse it. I believe it is better to learn from our history and move forward than keep blaming it.

I was in high school when Martial law was implemented. I recall the violent protest of the time and I was a witness to most of them because at the time, joining these rallies was just an excuse on my part to miss school. IMHO martial law did good the first 3 to 4 years because of the was able to calm things down a bit and help the economy recover. Too bad it ran too long and people found ways to abuse it. I believe it is better to learn from our history and move forward than keep blaming it.

Sad to know your discontentment about the Marcoses, but in my point of view, The Lettermen are brought by the Marcoses to perform in 1974 with the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant. I think Imelda Marcos are truly fitted to get some credits for bringing my favorites here. I'm in no politics policy, it's get me sick even to these days.

Nice song but some comments here are disgusting. Hindi umabuso ang mga Marcoses kung hindi umabuso si Ninoy then. Pikon si Marcos, alaskador naman si Ninoy via his commentaries at ABS/CBN, kaya hayun... Martial Law. This reminded me of Noynoy's style, banat ng banat ng walang basehan, pati si Kris din napikon ang co-host. Philippine democracy is not for the poor but for the people / media who spread lies. Also if marcos has his hands in corporations or has money in the top corporations in pinas it may be un capitalistic or anti-democratic but in the u.s. 2day is bailing out all ther corporations & taking monetary interests in civilian companys such as banks ala chinese, so america is also becoming socialist in a way also, but to guard its interests just as marcos did in his time, a little bit of democracy & socialism seems 2 be the new trend. Remember Marcos tolerated, and even supported, the Left during his first term (1966-1969), and he advocated diplomatic ties with the then officially Communist Regimes when he ran again in 1969. Marcos' policy of Ostpolitik made him suspect in the eyes of the Right. The pro-Russia PKP-1930 supported the New Society dictatorship. And the Marcoses praised "Chairman" Mhau Tzerdonq despite his murderous record.

after 1986 our country suffered as the inflation rate rose and the threat of civil war right just on our doorstep...

Mrs. Marcos had a lot of beautiful projects, yes. She was a patroness of the arts, yes. But I hate her abuse of God-given authority and her lies about her childhood and youth.

let face the fact, corruption is more rampant in the phils. compare during the marcos era. at least marcos did something for the philippines' after marcos did they do good for the betterment for the nation??? almost 22 years still they blaming the marcoses, kababayan don't be foolled.

It was mid-90's,there were P30,000,000 missing from SSS, if I remember it right, there was a family name involved (Manalili).I heard it from Maeng Reyes from a radio station.How did it happen? With the present economy now, still some people are blaming Marcos. That was long time ago.With the span of 20 yrs after Marcos,4 Presidents successors,then we should have recovered.We aren't in the 15 poorest nations. Those who are in power,they should be honest to their service.

It has been 22 years since they ousted Marcos.There were/are 4 Presidents after him.Any improvement done by anyone of them? Some people keep on pouting that Marcos did this,did that altho' not yet born during the Marcos era.Maybe Fidel Ramos did a little bit bettter to improve the economy.What about the others?Why not vote for Robin Padilla or Richard Gomez or Cesar Montano!I can't imagine how dumb the Filipino voters are!Anyone who has the ability to run a country,then prove urself.We will see

Imelda and Ferdinand MArcos were ambitious people and their ambition was equal with each other. This song was very fitted to them both just as how Imelda became the moon behind Marcos and Ferdy the sun that kept Imelda's wimps glittering! Its a very lovely so beautiful to senerade a couple whose brilliance though unmatched yet never did anything to improve the life of its people.Its the song of Juan de la cruz as well to Inang Bayan. Dahil sayo...*******tingnan n'yo ating bayan ngayon!
