I really loved this movie, I thought it was really well made. I went to see it with my mother who was their age during that time and said it was really true to the actual events and although no one can come close to the Beatles the covers were actually pretty amazing.

After the movie, in the bathroom, a couple of ladies who were around the characters' age when the movie was set was telling me how real it all was. They asked me if parts of it was strange to me because they thought it might not seem close to the truth if the viewer didn't live through the time. But they said it was very authentic-feeling.

I thought there was so much analogy made between the Vietnam war and the current state of our country's foreign affairs. And loved the music!

I didn't think I was going to like the movie at all but I found it comparable to Moulin Rouge in the way they updated the songs and made them fit the story, I loved it!!! I downloaded the songs as soon as I got home off Itunes!

I have heard it compared to Moulin Rouge multiple times. They are quite similar (what I've seen of Moulin Rouge, I haven't seen all of it), and I also think it is somewhat similar to Big Fish. I loved the movie, though I wasn't certain I was going to. I understand the "not messing with perfection" opinion, but I think this just gives us another way to enjoy The Beatles in a different context.
