I'll take a guess that the "5 string" are Baroque Guitars.
I make them professionally, as do a number of luthiers. In the UK there are some very notable makers of the Vihuela and Baroque Guitar. Not cheap because they are hand made by one person. Google 'historicalguitars' for my website.
EarlyGuitar ning website is worth joining for those interested in early plucked instruments.
Hey,
Beautiful instrument. Any idea where i might be able to buy one? I have been looking but can only find 5 string ones.
Cheers, Thomas

No problems. It's good that you took the trouble of looking it up.

I dont know what that was but it sure wasn't a vihuela. Vihuela's have 5 strings. I play vihuela in a mariachi.

There are two types of Vihuela. The Spanish Vihuela of 15/16th century Spain and the Vihuela played in Mariachi.
Are you still sure my friend?
