  • Outstanding! And perfect since I have a 1996 T-Bird as well. Saved me alot of heartache and money. Can't thank you enough!

  • This video and product worked perfect for our 1988 Ford F150. It took less than an hour. A body shop said we needed new hinges, but the pin kit worked perfect and saved $150.00

  • are there nuts behind the door hinge bolts? after supporting the door can I remove it to get better access to cutting the pins? it's on a 1992 lincoln town car

  • You just save me some Money Thanks.

  • thanx man great tutorial

  • i owne a 1994 t-bird 2 door coupe & my hinges look nothing like this.

  • That was great. Talk about a bunch of great info in a short video! Excellent!

  • bro you probably just saved me alot of time for mine. im in the process of repainting mine and ive got to do the door pins. Know how to completely take the door off? wires and all?

  • I think all ford vehicle get this problem. Thank you.

  • gay music

  • I have a 92' Ford Explorer, I just added this to my favorites. I made an attempt the other day to replace mine and it left me baffled. I'll be breaking out the grinder to take the head off of the pin. I nearly have broken my thumb a few times in the past few months since the door has began to sag as I have to open the window and lift up the door with my left hand. Though If I wanted to modify this video, I would suggest using a nut and bolt with a couple washers to put the bushings in place.

  • I miss my T-Bird :(

  • dude you probably just saved my car's life...the problem with mine also now tho is that the latch the door catches onto when it closes has come undone, the bolts holding it in busted through...

  • This was a GREAT GUIDE video... Thank you!!! I just replaced the passenger side door hinge in a 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX. I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I did find some other techniques that I found to be easier. I used a sawsall instead of a dremel. I got in and cut the pin easily. I then used the sawsall to make a notch in the pin head on both top and bottom so my flathead would have grip to shimmy the pin out. worked perfectly.

  • Also, I did this with a broken finger as I caught my finger in the door last week trying to close it and broke my finger doing so... took about an hour... now that I've done it once... I could probably do it in under 20 mins... All the credit has to go to NEWBIE JAM though... again... thanks for the video

  • Ive started my door today at 12pm and its 2:11pm and still not done with the first pin ! You make taking them out look 3x easier then it is! WOW I hate the Factory bolt damb things bet they were made in China! Owe I own A 94 Cougar XR7 and there is not that much space for my Dremel to grind on the bolt!

  • Thank you so much I Love this I have A Dumb when it comes to cars girl friend and she broke the hell out the car door last night trying to slam it shut! Broke the door jam latch and everything and it happened because of the hinges! I drive a 94 Cougar XR7 4,6L and its my baby but now the drive door wont shut!

  • Can you just cut the pins in half to save time rather then grind the head off which will probably remove paint and allow rsut to form..Just use a dremel or sawzall cut the pin in the middle and take out the top and bottom half? I have to do all 4 of mine for my 97 Tbird just ordered set of all 4 shipped for $9.57 was $10.15 but googled rockauto discount code found bunch of 5% off codes so save a buck lol

  • Very god video man, I gotta do the ones on my '96 XR-7 I am gonna do it this way... Thanks again

  • lolo i had this problem so i got lambo doors there ok they just get old

  • I did both of my Thunderbird's drivers side doors the same exact way. I've never seen this vid until now either. I installed the pin from the top though in case the clip falls off, the pin wont fall out. Unlikely but could happen. Also, anyone with sagging doors, fix it ASAP. On my old junker T-bird, the door was sagging so bad when I went to shut it one day the striker ripped off along with some metel. Had to weld it back in, it sucked. Sweet vid.

  • @DavidViny Dude my wife did the same shit last night and I had to J B weld it because I cant weld! Man the striker was just laying the door the latch close and she slammed it till it was broke! Did the door work or was it a lose?

  • @JakeDean91909 Yea my door worked after I welded the striker back on and replaced the hinge pins. Like 6 months before I fixed it, it got so bad that the door wouldn't shut anymore without lifting the door and shutting it at the same time. So I would have to roll down the window, push up on the top of the door, and shut it lol. New hinge kit and welded striker and it was just like new.

  • WOW!!!! Thanks so much for this great video! In order to avoid opening the droopy driver-side door, I have been getting in (& out) on the passenger side- then I climb over the console! Not only is it a pain, but it's embarrassing! Thanks again!!!

  • Rockauto has Dorman hinge pins pn 38438

  • Ypu hawe a nice Tbird, i hope sometime my will be too a nice one.

What do you mean is a lambo door kit a bad idea?

  • O how I wish I had seen this before doing my driver door. That was such a pain the.... Well, I guess when I do the passenger side it will go better.

  • meh, I guess this is a common problem for thunderbirds, and not just something only I've encountered.

  • good video..

  • Wow..Seems like too much work for my piece of shit Thunderbird.

  • Piece of shit? Own one. Fun cars with lots of power.

  • So do I...

  • Especially if you get the 5.0 or the 3.8 SC :D

  • Ok i bought the same kit you did, it calls for OD on the brass bushing to be .495 what in Inch's is that size?

  • Just replaced both hinge pins on my 1996 TBIRD using the info on your video. Worked out great. Thanks!

  • Hinge pin part number ?

  • Dorman / Motormite part number 38438

Thanks to NEWBIEJAB for posting this - my '96 Thunderbird never had it so good :-)

  • cool. good job!

  • I hate that though. The driver side of my thunderbird is the only one sagging at the moment. But it is common for these cars. Doors were made too heavy.

  • No. The hinge pins were made too weak. ;)

  • Too weak and people have a tendency to use the door for leverage to get in, putting too much weight on a already weak design

  • WELL DONE

  • cool. neat idea
