dont mean to bother you but guns are a poor club without ammo, and ammo will run out,

a crossbow means you can make your own ammo for ever from every branch around you, it is quite, and my pistol 75 pound pull has a lever that makes it easy to cock for a 12 year old so it is a nice hunting tool that shoots quite, never want g men or gangs hearing your shots.

i have been hug hunting with a bow, they were small hogs maybe around 120lbs after he was shot with a bow he chased us down until he was dropped with a .45 also in thick wooded areas you cant take a shot with a bow as the arrow will be deflected by brush and branches

You show much wisdom, but a crossbow is quite, and if push comes to shove quite means you do not become prey,

as for being chased, my friends hunt from tree stands, Keep your gun but when out of ammo now you know another weapon to use.

Talk about power generation and storage. Down in the SE, you have lots of rivers that can produce power long after the SHTF, if you have the components ahead of time. Recharged car batteries will barter for a premium when the grid is down.

Salvage parts from cars (alternators) and wire from anywhere to build a small hydro generator. The old water wheel's work great as a shaft for turning the shaft on a generator. Large gear on water wheel to a small gear on generator is HIGH speed turn on generator = useful power generation.

Solar garden lights work great for short term night lights as well,they have built in batteries.
