  • Obrigado por mostrar o final do filme

  • barack obama só veio ao mundo por causa desse filme, e ele admitiu isso aqui no Brasil.

  • Saw this a couple of weeks ago, lovely film, can't believe it was made in 59

  • Give me a f'ing break. This is no movie a young child should see. His description of the movie read almost word for word from wikipedia. Brazil can have Barry. The US will get a real president.

  • gostei do filme ... indicaçao do presidente Obama!

  • I just Obama was impressed by this video he is set to visit the location, now a high density chanty town near the ever higher density upper middle class district on Copacabana. It is amazing to see Rio, already at the time one of the most populous cities of the world was actually so... empty. This shows the lack of property planning for bith rich and poor and Brazil

  • il più bel film d'amore che io ricordi Innocenza, belelzza, musica e tragedia VITA

  • around 8:00 begins one of the happiest beginnings (in the guise of an ending) of all time. thanks for posting!

  • MERCI d'avoir mis en ligne quelques images de ce magnifique film.

  • Great and very sad movie.....long live brasilian melancholic music!

  • Vaikuttava muisto nuoruudesta -60 luvun alusta, kun filmi näytettiin Munkkiniemessä, missä silloin asuimme.

Muistan vieläkin tunnekuohuja, mitä tämä filmi toi tullessaan maailmasta kovin tietämättömälle 15-16 vuotiaalle. Musiikisävelmä säilyi matkassa kai aina.

REALISTA, DRAMATICO E AO MESMO TEMPO FASCINANTE.

  • I saw this film on its first release in NYC. On the "big screen" it was simply breathtaking! The audience was so moved they stood up at the end and applauded loud and long. Such a moving film so beautifully presented, acted and directed. The music stayed with me and from the first lilting melody to the crashing percussions of the opening credits we were mesmerised by sheer beauty., Thanks for posting and evoking such glorious memories.

  • My boyfriend first took me to see this in a cinema in Paris when I was 23. One of my favorites because of the original myth, the incredible soundtrack, the glimpse of Rio during Carnival, Marpessa Dawn, Lourdes de Oliveira and Breno Mello, the dancing!!!, and Euridice's braids.

  • One of the best film ever and ''Mahná de carnaval' one of my favorites Brazilian songs.

I am very grateful to you Vuego620 for sharing with us this wonderful video!

  • Muchas gracias !

  • what is the song at the end with the kids called I wanted to learn how to play it

  • The song at the end of the movie is called 'Samba de Orfeu' or Orpheus' Samba.

  • On the soundtrack it's titled "Samba de Orfeu".

  • i love this movie

  • My favorite Movie - My dad bought it for me on Laser Disc (remember those) when I was 13...I know the dialogue and all the songs. Have watched it at least 25 times....at least...probably more.

  • O Oscar de Melhor Filme Estrangeiro e a Palma de Ouro em Cannes devia ser do Brasil... o Filme é falado todo em português... feito no Brasil... com artistas brasileiros...injustiça....

  • a guy called vader510returns has this whole movie up and city of gods

  • no, that's Black August... Another film

  • Senna4ever

  • I first saw this film in Berkeley in the early/mid 60s and was totally blown away. "I gotta got there!" Fast forward 40+ years. My company purchased a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Brazil & needed someone with a sense of Latin America. I had lived for years in latinamerica hispanica but never Brazil. Not that my gringo boss knew that they spoke a different language. I got to spend months every year in this beautiful country and have added português to mi español.

  • Oh my god, I loved this movie. This is my favorite movies. The scenes are so beautiful, and the music, uh, so beautiful and touching.. Love ths song, Felicidade, it's just so beautiful.. Thanks for posting.

  • que linda esta film

  • Hard to believe it's fifty years old...

I cry every time I see it, not just because it's one of the happiest sad films ever made (and established Bossa Nova as my favourite genre of music), but because Wikipedia reports that the actors who played Orpheus and Eurydice died within days of each other last year. 'Triste', indeed...

I am delighted, however, to learn thru Wiki that this film was a favourite also of President Obama's mother, God bless her.

    Obrigado, vuego620!

  • Obama is a false idol and therefore evil, do your homework man.

  • 'Ta louco, howlburton.

  • Yeah its a tear jerker! I have to agree with you about the genre...And I say God bless Oboma's mother too, though I did miss lots of homework....

    I appreciate you. arigatou.

  • Thank you! Always in my top 5 list. In fact this probably had more influence on my life than any other film. Saw it at 15 in 71 and decided then that I wanted to live in Brazil. So I did in my 20's and now the culture has continued to be a huge part of me

  • thank u soo much for posting this!!

  • With the last scene with the children. It is my strong feeling the story day would be Sunday. Sunday because everyone is wearing Sunday clothes. The one wears a belt, the other white collar botton down shirt and khahi. The girl wears her frock white dress and white sandals. Their dance movements is the continuation of identity. The circle of life in this movie is masterfully accomplished.
