It's LEOPARD that spent too much time on eye-candy. The flip browser is THE WORST way to look for something. On the other hand, Vista's index search is ingenious- you can drag and drop search results to any folder or the desktop- can spotlight do that? no. I think it's Apple that needs to start rethinking smart design.

I cannot understand people who say Vista is "Shit" having never used it themselves. Sure it might be a little different and take a bit to get used to again, but overall it is a lot more stable that XP ever was. Windows is an ENTERTAINMENT platform. That is WHY it needs so much power to run. Microsoft rebuilt the entire OS and designed it to run on the new Intel Core2 chips, hence it won't run well on the Pentium class. Pentiums are based on a design that is over 15 years old!

No, they bought 86-DOS from Seattle Computer Products. Apple stole FreeBSD. Anyway, Microsoft developed the NT core, which is what's been in use for a long time, and makes up the base of Windows 2000, XP, and what Vista is designed around. There were also MANY versions of DOS, not just MS DOS. There was Novell DOS, DR-DOS and PC-DOS too. Windows was initially just a shell for DOS, but they moved from that idea and decided to use the more stable, more secure, NT platform for their OS.

Ok, for starters, "howto" is not a word. It's "how to", or sometimes "how-to". You've spelled "similar" wrong too. Also, if you want people to take you seriously ANYWHERE, that include online, you speak properly. It would take you an extra second all up at the most.

Want to know why they cost so much? Its the international shipping costs. Every Mac comes prebuilt from a factory in the US. They're much cheaper there. Not only that, you'll void your warranty if you try to upgrade it yourself, even if you have qualifications. With a PC, you can build it yourself, you can customise it, and support is EVERYWHERE.

There's also the huge amounts of money Apple spend on advertising, trying to get people to buy their expensive machines.

Vista is not good? Are you serious? Its fantastic. In fact, I use it on four of my computers at home. Two running Home Premium and the other two using Ultimate.

And even my AMD Sempron 1.6GHz with 1Gb memory and Radeon 9600 graphics (rated 3.4 WEI) it runs Vista fantastically.

I never went back to Windows XP. I feel much more secure and Vista is "the most user-friendly OS ever made".

True, but thats only because Apple stole the core of MacOS from an operating system which already existed called FreeBSD. Microsoft spent their time coding the NT base from the ground up, henceforth Windows is written using Microsoft's own code. Apple just took the code from an already good operating system, and slapped a user interface on top. Now, who stole what?

no, FreeBSD was completed long before Apple was around. Not that much work needed to be done, as Apple computers used a RISC CPU, which is what FreeBSD was originally designed for. FreeBSD was created as a RISC flavour for the CISC *nix system. Apple didn't do much at all. They changed a few commands to make the command prompt less useful, and they put a GUI designed by Xerox on top. Apple did barely anything. It was all marketing. It still is.

for someone who obviously has never touched Vista, you sure have a lot of negative things to say about it. Vista has breadcrumb-style hierarchy, Tiger doesn't. Vista has 4 different sized thumbnail views which you can segregate by type, Tiger doesn't. Vista has a built-in media server feature, Tiger doesn't. Truthfully, there are a million features Vista has where they didn't seem to copy anyone so i don't know how you're coming up with your ridiculous statements.

Tiger doesn't come with front row 1.0 "built in", Leopard does. My friend uses medialink to stream media to his ps3 and you have to pay for that. Cover flow is functionally stupid when you're actually trying to look for a song. I'm a mac user and I never use it- none of my mac friends use it either. And it IS fair to compare Vista to Tiger because Vista came out before Leopard. So if you want me to compare it to Leopard, that means Leopard is the copy-cat.
