I'm an indy wrestler (Yes I know I'm not too good at it). But even in the smaller companies I wrestle at, roids are being used. I think the great upcoming wrestlers who could make it to WWE or similar status see it as it's ok because no-one cares that much now. The rules are don't get caught taking 'em. And of course the damage they will do to you will be karma.
I bet there's alot more guys juicing up on the independant scene than HTM is making out, BUT he is right, if the tests do cost that much then wrestling is in huge trouble if every wrestler starts needing to be tested they'll be alot of promotions struggling finiancially. And that's if the promoters pay, if it's the wrestlers then the poor kid's are screwed
@alin1975 Clearly you've never been to an Indy card. I have a better build than most of those guys and I'm a 250 pound couch potato ex-construction worker.
I was just basing it off many years experience with guys at the gym (where I was always one of the only strong people not on roids). But if you say their physique is crap, then could be my little guestimate was off :)
@alin1975 every fuckin wrestler is on steroids today. it really pisses me off even with baseball there all drugged up. wish i grew up back in the day when they were all just naturally big and drugs didnt even exist
i dont think hhh is or was ever trying to be like the warrior, he said before that he never had any respect for the warrior either inside or outside the ring. Honky tonk is a washed up piece of slime/
@jamminjackhammer You don't have to respect a man to rip off his gimmick. HTM has more class than you "jackhammer". Washed up? WTF have you ever done besides play with your little LJN action figures?
WWE has always been guilty of steroids. I agree with HTM. Don't punish the independents and test them for illegal use of drugs. They need to seriously lower the boom on WWE because those corporation scumbags will get away with anything, including using steroids on their wrestlers. It doesn't take a science genius to learn how Triple H got so big and muscular.
I wonder....If they had started the whole drug testing thing up when HTM was a big name with the Intercontinental title, would he still have been speaking for the guys trying to break in to the business who couldn't affort the drug test. Or would he not care because he probably made enough money at the time?
Oh and by the way...how did 20 wrestlers each weekend get to be 2000 in 10 months?
@CreatureFeatureFred If you tried reading what i wrote you would realize i never said he was on the juice. I only said that i wondered if the only reason he cares about wrestlers trying to break into the business was because that is who we wrestles on a weekly basis. I also didn't say that it wasn't true what he said about who the drug test was gonna hurt. Back when he was a big name, on the juice or not, he was one of the people who could easily afford the drugtest.
how in the hell is hhh tryna be the warrior?all htm said was that statement and shook his arms, wtf show some other proof lol...i would say he took from other wrestlers but not warrior, his big thing was the run and shaking the ropes, warrior matches suck.hhh is#10 on my top 10 and reason being consistency, power and comedic side he has,but overall hes a force and that comes thru for real, hes not a character, btw my top 10 vs anybodys holla
The bad thing is most laws are designed to hurt small companies, large companies can afford regulations so the small companies get hurt and the large companies get larger. Most regulation laws are created by large companies for this reason.
If I had any suggestions for HTM it would be This,For the small Independent Promotions they should offer Free Drug Testing ,It would only be fair seeing that on a good night an Independent Promotion can make maybe total $70,000 and that is only an estimated flat amount but when you count what they have to pay the Wrestlers that counts for about 30% of that $70,000 which doesn't leave a lot for the Promoters themselves.
Who is going to offer free drug testing? The promoters? I think not. The state athletic commissions? Why exactly? How would that benefit them in any way? It a really troubling thing how everybody is always tossing around the words free. It outta be free, somebody outta offer this for free etc. Nothing is free. Someone is paying for it, whether it is private individuals or the tax payers as a whole. It's like HTM says, the local promoters just close.
BTW, I don't know of any local promotions that are pulling in even close to 70,000 on a consistent basis for a gate do you? Not when most are lucky to draw a few hundred fans about 10-12 times a year. That's why so many guys are working these stops on the circuit as regulars for twenty to forty bucks a night. If they weren't paid so little, the promotions couldn't afford to hotshot higher priced talent to draw the crowds.
@TNAROHfan I'm just saying that would only be for The Small Promotions who can't afford a $300.00 Drug Test for all of their Wrestlers,Not WWE or TNA.
this is my question his answering if you like this vid like my facebook page "extreme wrestling " we have full shoot interviews and full ECW & WCW PPV'S plus mutch mutch more

I don't think HTM is bitter, I think he's critical and very emphatic, but not bitter. He's at most pissed because he worked his ass off for both big timers (McMahon and Bischoff) and they both screwed him over. But I don't think he's bitter. And he's a damn good entertainer.
Most newbies out of the academy want to be buff and bulked up to handle the streets. And most take steroids. Sure, maybe later on they don't care and fatten up but the point is that these law keepers are doing illegal stuff themselves that they arrest others for. Got it tulipboy?
I love how people say Honky is bitter. I have heard probably every interview of his since 2000 and I don't know what he has to be bitter about. He make s a good living on the indies and has been off and on since the early 90s.
Tell me WHY he's bitter and then show me the clip where you see him complaining about getting a shaft. You want bitter, listen to RIcky Morton talk about Kevin Nash or Bret Hart about his career.
@sserpent21 - Is he making the big bucks right now though? No, he's selling his picture for five dollars on ebay and wrestling in local high school gyms in Hickville, U.S.A with his beer belly and man boobs hanging out. He went from Wrestlemania 3 to that nonsense. The only way he can get any half-ass mainstream attention is by doing shoot interviews and talking crap online.
Yes, I think he is bitter. VERY bitter, and even more hungry for attention.
@Zeeboe I met him recently and he doesn't seem bitter at all and seems to enjoy doing what he does and he keeps himself busy. He said in another video that he'll keep on doing these shows till he gets tired of doing it and can make a living doing it. It's not always about money.
batista was on riods no question hhh was you can tell i thgink that shawn micheals may have been in the 90s but since he came back in 2002 he was so much more slim he was not on anything.
@josephD32 I know that and at his age he can take a pay day whenever offered but Honky frequently has shots at WWE, not just here, pride is more important than money dude.
@goth1agw1omw how is it hypocrital for him to do an angle in a company who he said a few of there wrestlers were on riods its not like he was saying wwe sucks or vince he was saying about a few of the guys not the company.
@thetoon99 It's hypocritical because I have seen and heard him in many interviews where he completely blasts WWE, he talks down about McMahon, loads of it's talent, says how it degrades talent and other such stuff, yet he will then go work for them. Of course that is hypocritical.
@thetoon99 Along the lines that the talent is all the same and their all massive and not much more can be said about them than their size and that's how Vince likes it. That steroids are still as in use now as they were when he was around and that much of Vince's fortune has been right place right time and all he cares for is money.
It's obvious why WWE has a reputation of being filled with drug users. Vince has always liked big guys from the get-go with former champs like Warrior and Hogan and current ones like Sheamus and Cena. Now there are guys like Hogan who you can go "Yup - steriods" and guys who you can go "Genetics" like Brock Lesnar - but for guys like a Dynamite Kid, who aren't naturally able to bulk up easily, steriods is the only way to make money and get noticed - it's a stupid by-product of the Hogan Era !!
@Cyberpit2000 Actually, the northeast territory was always a haven for big guys, long before Vince K. took over the WWF. It's not like steroids suddenly began when Hogan signed to the WWF.
yeah triple h and batista are on something for sure. Look at how many shows they are at and when are they suppose to have time to work out traveling from city to city night after night. And they looked pumped 24/7
Hey morons guess what! Arnold Schwarzenegger would have been jack shit without steroids also! You have to be a complete fucking moron to not see that most of the wwe guys are on the shit!
think of all the great wwf stars who died of roids rude hennig british bulldog louie spicoli bryan pillman and more he doesnt care that theyre dying just money his drug policy is fail 1 warning 2 30 days 4 theyre gone theres an olympic gym if your caught there once your banned for a year
Wow, Honky Tonk is the angriest man on the planet. Not just here, but on every interview he does. I think he should take things more in stride... he'll live longer.
More regulation always hurts the little guy which is why large corporations have always embraced government regulators. It penalises the smaller competition that can least afford compliance costs, just as HTM says.
I love Honky's honesty... It's a shame he never had a bigger role behind the scenes in one of the major companies. He definitely didn't need to juice up to entertain the crowd...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Shut the fuck up Honky. Who the fuck did this guy ever beat, he's nothing but a scrub who's jealous that theres no place in wrestling for him anymore.
Do you really think only guys in the WWE or TNA care about their physical appearance and frankly are total marks for being jacked and ripped? Of course not.
@stevestoner13 To look like the wrestlers today, you must worship steroidal madness. Its not right, its not legal, and its not even cool. Boy do I miss the old days when wrestlers didn't look like cartoonish monstrousitys. HTM is real, and these steriods enhanced fools are fakes and not cool. -The games32
This reminds me of what Ric Flair once wrote in his autobiography re a well-known group of wrestlers: 'Drugs, not wrestling, destroyed [them].' We have been warned.
'You can't fly if you're high.' - Anti-drug radio ad.
I know Honky Tonk Man is not trying to be funny, but he would make a good stand up comic, all he would have to do is talk about the behind the scenes of wwe,I find all his youshoot interviews funny, especially when he talks about the RATS aka groupies, hahahaa!!!
I'm an indy wrestler (Yes I know I'm not too good at it). But even in the smaller companies I wrestle at, roids are being used. He went from Wrestlemania 3 to that nonsense. The only way he can get any half-ass mainstream attention is by doing shoot interviews and talking crap online.
Yes, I think he is bitter. VERY bitter, and even more hungry for attention.
Zeeboe 9 months ago
@Zeeboe I met him recently and he doesn't seem bitter at all and seems to enjoy doing what he does and he keeps himself busy. He said in another video that he'll keep on doing these shows till he gets tired of doing it and can make a living doing it. It's not always about money.
sserpent21 9 months ago
Guys in the indys couldn't afford to get roids. Not only that they don't have as rough a schedule to need drugs or to look massive.

I can't argue with what he is saying but it's a bit hypocritical since he recently wrestled a short angle with Santino Marella in WWE.
goth1agw1omw 1 year ago
@goth1agw1omw Maybe so, but HTM probably looked at it as nothing more than a payday.
You don't have to like someone to do business with them. It's about money, period.
josephD32 1 year ago
@josephD32 I know that and at his age he can take a pay day whenever offered but Honky frequently has shots at WWE, not just here, pride is more important than money dude.
goth1agw1omw 1 year ago
@goth1agw1omw how is it hypocrital for him to do an angle in a company who he said a few of there wrestlers were on riods its not like he was saying wwe sucks or vince he was saying about a few of the guys not the company.
thetoon99 1 year ago
@thetoon99 It's hypocritical because I have seen and heard him in many interviews where he completely blasts WWE, he talks down about McMahon, loads of it's talent, says how it degrades talent and other such stuff, yet he will then go work for them. Of course that is hypocritical.
goth1agw1omw 1 year ago
@goth1agw1omw what did he say
thetoon99 1 year ago
@thetoon99 I just said.
goth1agw1omw 1 year ago
@goth1agw1omw yes but what did he say about vince and the talent.
thetoon99 1 year ago
@thetoon99 Along the lines that the talent is all the same and their all massive and not much more can be said about them than their size and that's how Vince likes it. That steroids are still as in use now as they were when he was around and that much of Vince's fortune has been right place right time and all he cares for is money.
goth1agw1omw 1 year ago

It's obvious why WWE has a reputation of being filled with drug users. Vince has always liked big guys from the get-go with former champs like Warrior and Hogan and current ones like Sheamus and Cena. Now there are guys like Hogan who you can go "Yup - steriods" and guys who you can go "Genetics" like Brock Lesnar - but for guys like a Dynamite Kid, who aren't naturally able to bulk up easily, steriods is the only way to make money and get noticed - it's a stupid by-product of the Hogan Era !!
Cyberpit2000 1 year ago 2
@Cyberpit2000 Actually, the northeast territory was always a haven for big guys, long before Vince K. took over the WWF. It's not like steroids suddenly began when Hogan signed to the WWF.
DIESEL0759 4 months ago
yeah triple h and batista are on something for sure. Look at how many shows they are at and when are they suppose to have time to work out traveling from city to city night after night. And they looked pumped 24/7

More regulation always hurts the little guy which is why large corporations have always embraced government regulators. It penalises the smaller competition that can least afford compliance costs, just as HTM says.

This is so true, it's easier to bust small promotions cause they don't have the funds to be able to pay fines. Unlike the wwe.
And as far as Jeff Hardy goes, maybe that scrawnly little shit ain't on roids but, you can tell from a fucking mile away he's on cocaine.
STRANGERin1776 2 years ago 3
I think Honky Tonk Man is a bitter, whining little bitch but irregardless of this, he is totally right. Steroids destroy the indies.
Batista, HHH, Cena > Fucking juicing like no tomorrow.
Nearly every active wrestler on ROH? > Clean as a nun's vag.
stevestoner13 2 years ago 17
@stevestoner13 To look like the wrestlers today, you must worship steroidal madness. Its not right, its not legal, and its not even cool. Boy do I miss the old days when wrestlers didn't look like cartoonish monstrousitys. HTM is real, and these steriods enhanced fools are fakes and not cool. -The games32
