  • @darkmanir - If you get hurt from a car accident and sue the insurance company for not compensating you adequately, generally, no, that is not restorative justice. A restorative process would look very different from a lawsuit. A mediator colleague of mine focuses most of his mediation work on exactly this sort of thing -- out-of-court settlements for insurance claims. Typically it involves the injured party & their atty meeting w/ the insurance co's atty as well as the mediator out of court.
