I mean it's not a freggin 60 grand+ car that has to be luxurious, and plus you're not going to touch the damn dash every single day to enjoy the car. New Interior?? It looks the same as the Last Gen Sonata with different lighting. and I work at a rental car company. The only thing that looks good is the outside.

Nice car but more expensive than Camry or Honda even in the GLS basic model. I went to a dealer yesterday, they were asking retail price for it and financing of 4.9%, no rebates or nothing. Disappointed because of that, though, it definitely looks better than the Accord or Camry, it is still a Hyundai & resale value is still way lower than the latter.
IN korea they started to sold this car in the 2009 but I dont know why they have to delay into 2 years later from Korea which is 2011. -_- But when it camed out as a taxi and just notice that is was standing right beside of a public buses, I took this car as a public trasportation because the car looks so sexy and lend some moneys from my parents after when I arrived to destination. :)

I would buy the Chevrolet Cruze instead of this. The Chevy just has a more muscular look to it, especially on the front, while the Sonata looks so wimpy.
Hyundai has been on the rise for a while now. I remember owning an old 1995 sonata back in the 90's and that car was used by both of my brothers when I finished using them so they last for a while. Now the they have stepped up the design and they have always been cheaper than Honda and Toyota. Now would be the time for them to really push this design with Toyota having their problems. Nice Design....i would definately get one hands down!

@04051218 Don.t be fooled by these numbers. 99 percent of time this car will not produce 200 hp . you get 35mpg because gears are tall and it like to run at low rpm( hence low power). If you put cruise control in a hilly drive this car will almost always downshift to maintain the speed. Midrange is what really counts. Chevy v6 are super smooth. Honda does a good job to balance this on its 4 cyl cars. Forget numbers. Test drive it. Your driving style will define mpg. .
@gwalia4 well said! plus 4 Cylinders usually in a mid-size has very lackluster acceleration with just the driver and once you start throwing in passengers and luggage, its usually a snail crawl to 60. it may get you your "35MPG" but at the same time you probably wont be breaking any excitement levels if you want to push your car a little bit :)

Hyuandi has made a lot money in last few years selling cheap cars in asia and india. This is just a direct result of hyuandi 's investment in quality and design. Making good cars is not cheap. Hyuandi never had money for design, test and manufacturing like toyota and honda. Anyways i love more competition. Its will make all cars better.
Forget Government Motors. You should get a genesis or the new ford tauras with ford touch. Do some research and you will be surprised at how good the new system is. Not sure if you can get it in 2011 or 2012 tauras
I hate how people say that things are unoriginal. FYI it was first drawn in 2004 and hasn't changed much since, I believe that means that all of these cars you claim it copies were not really here. That also means that with the extra time spent in development this car will be a great car for years to come!
It set all sales records during its Korean release so they decided to bring it here ASAP but the 2010 was already on sale... it could be a 2010.5, but why all that effort!

The car is very beautiful. It seems Sonata is coming to Europe with the name Ix/40. I've been 'googling' and read that in some markets including UK, there is a plan to sell this sedan and a sportswagen. There'll be some changes in the looks.
Nissan Teana is not chinese...its Japanese. And how does the sonata look like the teana? find a picture of the teana and look at it before commenting.
This is a really nice Hyundai. The grille still needs to grow on me, for me to like it. I think Hyundai is doing a great job, and they should keep it up. In the next five years or so, people should forget about the old, cheap Hyundai. Come on people, change is for the better, so stop being haters!

I just give you an information: In proportion with incomes, Hyundai has twice (or three times) the budget of Toyota for marketing, while Toyota invest the same (in proportion) to improve cars, technology and not-profit projects. I can't understand how come people write these comments, not objective at all, arrogant (the only one car maker able to be compared with Hyundai is Porsche <-- What's that?) Poor technology, nothing of improvements and basically the same technology as before. Nothing of improvements compared with another car of the same segment and as expensive as another (it's Hyundai anyway). Be realistic, people.

Most Toyota and honda are also made in usa. However Ford is the only decent american car maker at this time. I hope Government Motors can catch up.
Hyuandi has made a lot money in last few years selling cheap cars in asia and india. This is just a direct result of hyuandi 's investment in quality and design. Making good cars is not cheap. Hyuandi never had money for design, test and manufacturing like toyota and honda. Anyways i love more competition. Its will make all cars better.

I hate how people say that things are unoriginal. FYI it was first drawn in 2004 and hasn't changed much since, I believe that means that all of these cars you claim it copies were not really here. That also means that with the extra time spent in development this car will be a great car for years to come!

The car is very beautiful. It seems Sonata is coming to Europe with the name Ix/40. I've been 'googling' and read that in some markets including UK, there is a plan to sell this sedan and a sportswagen. There'll be some changes in the looks.
