I loved your show Soupy. I wish I could have told you in person. It was back when children still had a chilhood that did not stop at eight. We could still be children until 12 back then. No eight year olds in makeup and adult clothing. You were a laughfest along with all of the crew. We miss you. We miss the innocence of America at that time. Whew, where did that come from. Sorry!
I remember the first time I saw the show...I couldn't believe it. He treated us kids like we were smart and that's why we got the jokes behind the jokes. Then my Dad started watching too.
I grew up being lucky enough to see Soupy and Fang at their best . I think it's time to bring back the pies !! I can think of a few politicos who need a good pie in the face . Soupy had a way of delivering his corny jokes that so blindsided you that laughter was an automatic knee jerk reaction . Thanks for posting this !!
No matter how old Soupy is now, he will ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS)be dear to the heart of every kid (now in their 50's) who grew up w/ his zany and beloved 60's show. I'm proud as hell to say I'm one of those kids.
well said and spot on ,guidobrat. i also was one of those kids and soupy will always be my favorite . i wish there were more clips out there. long live soupy , fang , black tooth , pookie and hippie. it was a great time to be a kid. we love you soupy!!
What amazed me was the guy doing the 'bangs' for the pie hit's. His timing was impeccable, be it one shot onto Soupy or utter chaos with Sinatra and all. Those bangs were always dead on. Then of course those expressions of Soupy, whether a direct hit or a misfire. Soupy played it for all it was worth. Brilliant man, without any fear! 'Hey, where's the water cooler...? I don't know, Alaska? BAM! Okay then, New York? BAM!' Love it! :)

I remember his pie fight with Sinatra, Davis, and Lopez, not to mention the immortal pie fight with Moe Howard on the Mike Douglas Show.
The pie fight with Moe Howard?
I told you not to mention the pie fight with Moe Howard!!!
(One of his many classic jokes.)
