  • Can you be my couch?

  • "alright, 1.31 to shoot 3 dudes, thats not too bad" Good job.

  • Fuck, that's fast.

  • Fuck me, that's fast.

  • Damn that was quick, thanks for the tips Kyle

  • What rifle are you using?

  • dang that is some nice shooting! my goal is to get that profficient at training like that. awsome video

  • might as well be shooting full auto....good god, that was fast

  • That's fucking awesome........

  • way to slow if u ask me!! lmao damn by the time my brain would send the signal to my hand to draw these guys would of shot my ass 6 times lol freakin bad ass.

  • That second guy just had to show off alittle bit...

  • @NinjaPandaMk1 only an ignorant troll like yourself would say something like that

  • Kyle,

Thank your for sharing your knowledge with us.

Do you prefer to keep your front sight upright? Why?

  • Dear god, just over 1 and a quarter seconds to put two into three guys. That's impressive.

  • Thanks Kyle, I've applied this technique with my guys and we were able to shave off an average of 5 tenths of a second! It may not sound like much, but that could mean the difference b/t life and death. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

  • Kyle, are you moving on the recoil between targets?

  • @TACTICALCOMPANY I try to let the recoil carry me to the next target, don’t flock shoot just drive the weapon once you have fired a good shot. You can also check out the 1-5 drill with slow motion to see what is happening.

  • Thats some Fast Shooting. Doesn't even sound like you stop shooting to move your weapon from target to target. Awesome!

  • @odca6 I would prefer the rifle. Or an AT-4 if I could carry enough. KL

  • Sir, in battle that close what do you think is the best to use pistol or rifle? Thanks.

  • Good lord, 1.26s, that's fast. Would be interesting to plot on a graph how his time increases as the targets are separated 1 foot at a time.

  • what timer do you use, and why? is any other timer just as good?

  • @silentlightningdice I use the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro II. I would not say they are the best it is just what I am used to.

    Kyle

  • @VikingTactics

I use the Pact club timer 3. I shot this drill a few times after I discovered it. My first times were 1.72, 1.69,

1.57, 1.46, 1.34 and 1.25. I tried both stopping at each target, and making a sweep, and pressing the trigger when the front sight was on the target. I used a 16" barreled carbine, and iron sights. The faster times were from the "sweeping" technique. Drill was shot at 5 meters.

  • @scottfn308 Well, how does the "sweep" technique work when you push the range out to ten, fifteen meters or spread out the targets more?

  • @John234pwns

It works OK out to about 10 meters or so. At 15 you get into what I call the "gray area" meaning that you really

shoot more of a controlled pair rather than a true double tap. basically the farther the range, the more pronounced the "stop" is between the targets.

  • @scottfn308 Makes sense.

  • That is the strangest looking grip I've seen. o3o

  • @Grubbernaut The actual grip form, or the grip attached to the rifle? Holding the rifle far out reduces recoil.

  • How far away from the targets do you stand in that drill? 15 meters?

  • @antidead You can shoot from wherever you want. In the video we were shooting from 5 yards. It is to emphasize the point of driving the weapon as hard as possible from target to target and not double tapping.

    Kyle

  • Mr. Lamb whats your view on Eotech vs Aimpoint?

  • @dmjerrywest44 Here is what I think. Shoot what works. EO Tech is fast, when they work. XPS seems to work better since the battery compartment is fixed. Aimpoint is slow but the T1 and new Aimpoints are bright and durable.

EOTech is Made in the USA.

    Aimpoint is from Sweden.

I have been shooting the Leupold 1-8 a lot lately, not as fast up close but really makes life easy out to 400 yards.

    Kyle

  • Why is the vertical foregrip so far up front on the rail? Does it give you better recoil, sweeping and targeting control than if it were farther back??

  • @xXjOmAmMaXx All I can say is to try to move your grip a little at a time and find the right spot. I am a little bit of a freak when it comes to how far out I put my support hand, but it must work, several out there are using this technique now.

    Kyle

  • @xXjOmAmMaXx Yeah a lot of guys are moving it all the way forward now, takes some getting used to, especially in the extended shoulder, but force yourself to do it and you'll likely never go back. Assuming you can still operate your light, if you have one. Think of it this way, if you're sweeping the floor with a broom, do you put both of your hands up at the end of the handle, or spread them out for more control and power? Same with driving the rifle. Hope it helps and be safe.

  • awesome I love VTAC

  • He's on my team if there's ever a zombie apocalypse... just sayin...

  • This is an excellent example of being able to demonstrate and set the bar for anything you require of your students/shooters. Keep up your great work, brother.

  • Best Training videos on YouTube. 720P, great sound through out and the dynamic graphics are a great touch. Very comprehensive. Thank you very much for sharing your training drills with us in such a professionally made format.

  • Thanks, Kyle. Your book was well worth the money.

  • Kyle, i've learned so much from your book and watching your videos. Thank you. I see all you guys rock the eotech. Is this personal preference or is there an advantage? I have a Aimpoint on my rifle now. I like it but it does kinda give me tunnel vision, versus the eotech. Do you use the eotech for multiple targets?

  • Kyle, that was some fast shooting!! Can you tell us what brand and model of trigger you use for that? Thank you.

  • @BobLeKatt I use either the JP Adjustable trigger or the Geiselle trigger. Both are great triggers.

I have been playing with a few other brands, but I always come back to the JP or G trigger.

    Kyle

  • every time i see Mr.L. doing a drill i think , damn, that man is fast !

  • Kyle, I've seen many people lower their gun after a double tap or tri-burst. Is this reccomend?

  • @Oxstayne I dont recommend it. The 2 2 2 drill is intended to be a building block to the 1-5 and triple threat drills.

    Kyle

  • damn... this guy is good.

  • Kyle, Do you recommend some of the lightweight bolt carriers out there to help with cycle times & therefore performance times? If so, do you balance them out with adjustable gas blocks & recoil management devices in the buffer/recoil spring set-up? I'm just wondering if one could match those splits with a full-weight bolt carrier(M16). I remember you saying something about a Porche engine inside a Chevy body. Thanks again for all that you do-these are great educational tools.

  • The bolt system in that weapon is the same weight as a standard M4 bolt, absolutely no issues with the M4 Bolt system. The JP is slicked up to improve function and JP does offer a lightened bolt carrier, but I am not a fan of that particular part for duty use. It's fine for competition where you have the ability to dictate ammo and tune to that ammo, but I want to be able to shoot everything I can get my hands on. The trigger has a much larger impact on this type of shooting than the bolt.

  • what do you mean by drive the gun as hard as you can to the target?

push, lean in, hold tight? not sure what you mean...

  • Now, if I could only get the bad guys to stand still and offer me a full frontal shot without resistance or movement! Maybe we should be training bad guys how to stand still? Just kidding, brother, nice, smooth, seamless shooting, just like it should be! Great video.

  • omfg that fast shooting that what u would see in a movie....

  • Kyle/VTAC,

I am learning how to use a fighting rifle and was wondering what it means to "drive the gun forward."

Is this different than just bringing the sights to bear?

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Driving the gun just means to be very aggressive getting the weapon into position. Most shooters want to shoot fast but take their time on everything else. Always move quickly, drive the gun hard, then slow down and make the shots count.

    Kyle

  • he seems cocky...but he has reason to be...all the drills have been great

  • Quick & Very well placed shots. Nice Shooting Kyle!!!

    SSA.

  • um....... that is fast!

  • Kyle one question. Are you using the 14.5 barell? I am not sure because of your handguards.

  • It's a 16 in. barrel.

    -Kyle

  • Kyle and team,

I've noticed that both you and Mike Pannone use EOTechs as your optic of choice. What's been your experience comparing EOTechs vs. other optics for these drills? Any reliability issues so far?

  • I've used both a lot. There were some reliability issues with the EOTech batt. box (although I never had problems). I believe those probs are fixed now. I also shoot an Aimpoint T-1 for many classes. It's a really cool sight: small and durable. Not as fast as the EOTech due to field of view limitations and the less prominent dot.

Bottom line is shoot whatever works for you!

    Kyle.

  • What EOTech do you prefer to use? Thanks.

  • SuperRobot7

I am really not that picky. The only thing I dont like about the EOTech is the version with the Arms Throw Lever Mounts. Have not had good luck with that version due to the levers. I am looking forward to checking out the SPS versions which should be out soon.

    Kyle

  • Thank you. Just wondering because I'm trying to get my hands on the Vtac S&W AR and I need some sights and might as well as get them now since there are still some sales going on.

  • Nice drill. How far apart are the targets?

  • Normally I try to set the targets about a target width apart, but the farther you spread them the better training you will get. We start close to show students what we are trying to get across, after that we make it more difficult by increasing that distance.

  • Now thats skill!!

    Very well done!

  • can't wait to do a class with you, sir.

  • SGM you are killing me here. This gives me something to work on before the upcoming classes. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very impressive top.
