  • couldn't agree more with this. My Wharfedale speakers sound pretty terrible in my small bedroom but fantastic in a large living room. The characteristics of the room really do change the way your audio sounds.

  • Agreed. It's not always the case that audio stores have better set-ups and better room acoustic. But it's always the case that they are different from your home set-up; sometimes in minor ways, other times in major ways.

  • The mistake also goes the other way around as well esp. in big box stores like Best Buy or Circuit City. In these type of environments components are set up on store selves. Plus acoustics non existent because of loud ambient noises of a busy retail space and warehouse like sales floors. In these conditions there is absolutely no way to determine how a system performs.
