St Pat came from Britain, cabage was a imported by cromwell to feed his army. Guiness he was a Anglo Irish person. Anyway most people in Ireland today are from East Europe or Africa, so they now in turn be Irish after a few years.

Did you feel safe walking around Dublin at night? I was in Chicago in 1982 for St. Patrick's day. I hope Dublin does it as good as Chicago! I didn't see any floats in the video above.
