  • I've called it a "fridge" for as long as I can remember.

  • 0:12 - Pimpin

  • Great info to know! Thanks for shareing!

  • Its really sad but I've know a lot of peopele with failed appliances from 2007 or 8 or newer.

For some reason they don't make them like they used to. Granted they are a lot better looking and more energy efficient now.

  • hmmm. I bought the same fridge (black) around the same time period. Luckily it has no signs of trouble, but hey at least this is good to know!

  • weres the world of obsolete technology? in your intro?

  • @WinbookXL3 I am re-branding the channel as simply "BBISHOPPCM's World"

  • Nice tip, i'm going to try that next time. We are to used to just throwing things away these days without even trying to repair.

  • 2007? my 1983 Maytag works fine without any repair ever done to it. quality is going away...

  • @IamFat32

We had an early 1980's fridge up until last year. It was still working fine but the power draw was very high and it was a little too small, so we replaced it.

If the new fridge lasts even half as long as it did, I will be surprised.

  • I think everyone that speaks english uses the word fridge, I'm just sayin. What else would we call them (besides refridgerator)

  • @IamFat32 They used to be called iceboxes, IIRC.

  • @Fuzy2K Thats right, I totally forgot about that.

  • @IamFat32 Hmmm.. ice contraptions? lol

Yeah, fridge is a universal term. I wonder if that UK guy thinks we call "computers" something else as well...

  • @raymangold22 lol, I can't think of somthing that would make sense for computer.. big oversized calculating machines? lol

  • OMG! We hired a new IT guy who is starting on Monday and he looks exactly like you! Do you have brothers that live in Chicago?

  • With the advent of NAFTA, alot of refrigerator corporations shipped their manufacturing facilities to Mexico in order to save money. unfortunately the quality of workmanship plummeted and alot of consumers complained. There was a high rise in product failure. In the case of General Electric for example, they moved their factory facilities back to the United States. Thanks for posting this video.

  • That fridge is tiny compared to most of the fridges I see in american houses. Also I didn't think Americans used the word 'fridge'!

  • @Danny77uk This was considered a "normal" sized fridge in this country up until recently, when double-door mammoth-sized models started gaining popularity. This isn't the smallest household fridge available, there are two smaller sizes you can get. Yes, the word "fridge" is very common here... what the heck did you think we called them?

  • @bbishoppcm Freezer or Refridgerator

  • @bbishoppcm ice box

  • @bbishoppcm "cooling humming door things!"

  • @Danny77uk lol i didnt think they said 'fridge' either
