Hmmm...I own a QY100 and I wonder if it can use the volume slider on the left as a controller? Would need to consult the user manual.

The volume slider is the output level of the qy100 only as I recall.

You should be able to use the individual track outputs as

volume control #7 if you are controlling something else with

your qy100 and get volume control that way.

Yep I understand that. Oh and lord knows why Yamaha stopped making the QY100, when it was so successful and not on the decline! Seemed that way anyhow.

page 73 begins the process of how to record using 16 channel

method.

page 105 begins how to use phrases and patterns. I have never

done phrases or patterns on any of mykeyboards or sequencers

I'll look online to see if there is a manual with any rythmn or pattern playback

using an external synch via midi cable. It should work since it is an arranger.

I only built songs with the one I had and had to choose a channel to control with

and external keyboard via midi cable and it worked fine that. way

@pirinst come to thing of it. I tried both my qy and rm1x to control my roland

exr5/exr5s sequencers and couldn't get them to synch right if I recall. Would

guess yamaha to yamaha should be ok.

Just got my QY100. Trying to get the accompaniments to follow my keyboard playing w/left hand to make my keyboard perform like a Tyros arranger-type keyboard. I have the QY earphone out cable going into my keyboard audio-in jack and playing through the keyboards amplified monitors . I have my keyboard midi out cable to the QY midi in. QY setting Midi Sync=External, QYMidi Control=In. No Good. Settings correct? Am I supposed to add a 2nd midi cable going from QY out to keyboard midi in? Thx

@Halunlimited page 53 shows how to use patterns. My guess is you have to choose a song and set up the song to be a pattern or rythmn playback before

you can command start and stop from an external source. I never used it for that

purpose but it should be do-able with some experimentation.
