I just got back from SD and we stopped at Devil's Tower! I almost got to the top of the Boulders! AWESOME! Me and my brother also climbed (actually more like a walk) To a puddle and I took the adventurous way back!

I used to go climbing with my dad at Hueco Tanks just outside El Paso, TX. If you guys are ever down that way you should really check it out, some of the best climbing it the world.
@thefifthteen Wikki: The name Devil's Tower originated in 1875 during an expedition led by Col. Richard Irving Dodge when his interpreter misinterpreted the name to mean Bad God's Tower. This was later shortened to the Devil's Tower.[2] All information signs in that area use the name "Devils Tower", following a geographic naming standard whereby the apostrophe is eliminated.
Loved the comment "that's the most extreme climb by a landslide!"
Had to laugh because the route is 5.7 at the crux so the climb is not that difficult BUT - that is EXACTLY how I felt after climbing it in the late 90's!
Great video and the POV took me back to my climb! Thanks!
excellent video and great climbing. You certainly deserved the beer... just hope you didn't leave the cans on the top of the mountain.... is there a mickey mouse drawn in the log book in one of the last shots? Congrats again bro.
Ahh.. well... I work at an army surplus store here in Tulsa and we carry this brand called "New England".. climbing rope in a 1000' spool... expensive stuff.. $1.20 foot.... so that sounds about right.
Ya, I've only bought one rope and it was a fixed length, so I didn't know you could buy it by the foot. Thanks for the heads up on that. Maybe if we have to climb something a little different I might have to buy it that way.
I have hiked the trails throughout the Monument. Thanks for taking me UP the tower!

"Oh that's...good for the video." lol
Much respect to you guys, it takes a crazy amount of physical strength, nerves, and willpower to climb rocks like this.

@Devilock79 Thanks for the comment. We are heading down to Lake Placid NY in a couple of weeks. We want to climb a few slabs.

5 stars bro... ftw....
Very impressive climb...
How much is rope like that per/ft?
/action looks at the mountain again...
"This is important.... it means something..."...
ZmajSnoshaj 2 years ago 2
Rope can cost $190.00 - $240.00(Canadian)/60meter or 213ft. I do't think you can buy it by the foot, It comes in 2 lengths. 60m or 70m

Cool beans, dude.
Sweet vid.
5 stars for some nice shots, and helping to bring back some great memories.
BTW: Not to be anal, but the first pitch of the Durrance route is "The Leaning Column", not "The Leaning Tower".
Later, tater.
Peace, and.....CLIMB ON!!!
