@4Th3Truthful EMP generators require massive power & generally explosions like C4 or bridgewire slappers. It's not easy to keep doing that, these are consumable items. Lead-shielding also doesn't work for all kinds of radiation. Gold foil would help too, it deflects protons, lead shielding as far as I know is good for neutrons. I could have that last one wrong ...

Further, any gravitational force able to pull on rock can't avoid pulling on the water. I think we'd notice constant tidal waves or even a new rise - I mean tall enough to bury North America 80% or more in ONE WAVE - we can't ignore that & it would come first.
