She's so hot and has a sexy voice. The first time I ever saw her was in 24, when she played Behrooz Araz's mother. I was struck by how nice her eyes are.
@bryana28 No I'm not saying that because you don't agree, only because she may have a deep voice, but she does NOT look like a man. And no I am not Iranian, I'm american caucasian, born and raised in Arizona. I even have Irish in my roots, so I'm about as white as they come. Also, not all Iranians are self centered, as Shohreh clearly demonstrates, but those that are self centered are not just Iranian. All nationalities have their "bad apples".
How cheap are you Shohreh Aghdashlo? Selling your country for some pennies? Chanta sandis behet dadan? Taking part in a movie that provokes war....shame on you. Vatanforosh.
The reason she has a deep voice is because she is a very heavy smoker. Nevertheless, she is a wonderful actress, bravo. I hope she stops smoking...maybe she has already. Bravo, bravo, bravo.
Shoreh has a deep and booming voice... I simply love it. Especially in Mass Effect 2 where she voiced Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay.... very very impressive... Shoreh for the win :)
@TheDaemons SO are you try to call me imbecilic because i dont agree with your opinion? you must be iranian the iranian people never say nice to any human but them selves and their own people good for you that you like her and you support ing your own people but i have my own opinions to express and you calling me imbecilic .the word IMBECILE its better to use it on you and you deserves that word .i'm better than that .
The Iranian people speak Persian. Baha'i leaders to create divisions between people have taken award, and Baha'i people knew themselves better than anyone else. So this is the Iranian nation that they do not like Baha'is religion. We are proud of our alliance. We'll honor the Persian language.
Shohreh Aghdashloo sucks! Ridi with your fox news interview supporting Ahmadinejad and standing against the will of most Iranians in the world. Shame on you.

I love how you dimwits completely misunderstood her remarks on Bill O'Reilly.
She said "What if 62% really voted for Mr. Ahmadinejad? We don't know. From the bottom of my heart I would love to say yes it was a fraud."
How is that betraying your own country? By being skeptical she automatically supports Ahmadinejad and told to burn in hell? ? She clearly wants democracy in Iran as you can tell by her comments, but the fact is like most of us, she can't know for sure and neither will we.

Shohreh Aghdashloo is the best actress I've ever seen. In House of Sand and Fog she is absolutely breathtaking. Even outplaying Sir Ben who by nature lacks of "Iranianism". Kingsley is the master, Shohreh is the goddess!
She was positively fantastic--nobody could deny that. But whether she's such a great actress...who knows; in this part she more or less played herself.
Hey, I guess you are right with your assessment. I simply haven't seen her ever before. So I thought she was acting at her best. But if you say she was only being herself, than she is possibly a great human being, like IMHO many Persians are!
Saying Aghdashloo played herself is like saying any American actor/actress plays themselves when they are an original American character in a fictional movie. Just because she played an Iranian doesn't mean it was herself. She played a woman who couldn't understand a difficult situation and had to go through pain and anguish with a blindfold on. She deserved an Oscar and praise for her performance.
Well, as I said below, it was SHE who said she was playing herself. It was SHE who said she had experienced the same sorts of things (like been born in Iran and coming to west). And it was SHE specifically who said as soon as reading the part that of course she should get it, because she only had to play herself.
AGAIN, I do not mean to disparage her. But being a great actor means convincingly playing someone TOTALLY DIFFERENT from yourself, eg. something Kingsley has done countless times.
Hmmm, I thought I had described below some of the things she had to say in the DVD extras. I don't see that post now--maybe it was deleted.
I recommend viewing the DVD extras to learn more about her. Also, imdb tells some things about here (for example, that she left Iran in response to the Islamic Revolution--just as her character had in the movie).
sonyablack; Yes. he's part Hindu, part Jewish and Christian with a direct link to Gandhi himself. If more people were as mixed as this maybe there wouldn't be any racial conflicts(?) majesticmaniac; I like Hopkins too especially as "Nixon". The edge that Kingsley has is that he's played such utterly diverse roles, plus alot of racial stereotype roles..and he's done them ALL. He's been the most obscene (in Sexy Beast) and the most delicate (Gandhi).

sonyablack; I feel a close affinity with Kingsley because i'm the same racial mixture (unfortunately can't act though!). Ben's dad was an Indian physician from Gujarat province.
