I HATE DAT BARNEY VOICE..... SOUNDS LIKE HE'S SICK AND HIS NOSE ALL CLOG UP.... HIRE ME 2 DO BARNEY'S VOICE...... I CANT DO A BETTA INPRESON DEN DIS DEAN GUY
I really hope Disney can get their hands on PBS kids so they can possibly revive or restore the purple or blue dinosaur, I mean I threw on a old Barney tape the other day to give my little brother a history lesson on Barney and he loves the old ones instead of the new
@Entertainment3210 Mattel (yes, the toy company Mattel) now owns HIT Entertainment, Barney's company, so they're the ones you should be concerned about. Also, PBS is merely the network Barney airs on, not the owners of the series.
@123thecoolstuff I personally thought Dean did a pheonominal job on it. Definately one of his best moments as Barney's voice, in my opinion (along with him singing "Someone To Love You Forever" in Barney Live in Concert).
i think Barney should be bought by Disney.. I think would do some really fantastic things with the show and videos and tours... i just hope the set gets changed XD
@TheBestBarneyFan Maybe, but the problem is because Barney doesn't fit with Disney. In addition, Richard Leach refused to sell Barney at a meeting with Disney executives, making them furious. He retold this story proudly, claiming it to be how he "stood up to 'The Mouse'." While the Leachs aren't involved with the Barney franchise anymore, I think that they should have some input on where their purple t-rex goes (after all, with out Sheryl, there would be NO Barney).
@TheBestBarneyFan - I'm really hoping that Disney doesn't get Barney, or any of the other HiT brands, as they REALLY suck at keeping preschool brands alive. Unless they were to focus directly on him (Which isn't very likely), the purple guy wouldn't be around that much longer. I think Saban Brands, a company focused on re-building falling brands, would work out much better for Barney.
@FanOfBARNEY It's worth it, if only to hear Dean Wendt do a fantastic cover of "Christmas is Our Favorite Time of Year" (a redub of Night Before Christmas' scene, but done very well) and the whole Nutcracker segment.
@FanOfBARNEY Personally, it's an enjoyable clip show worth the price I paid ($9 at Target). I think "The Nutcracker" story really saved this release from being average. It had some great surprises, like Dean Wendt redubbing "Christmas is Our Favorite Time of Year". But if you really "hate" clip shows, this won't change your mind much. In fact, I thought "Big World Adventure" was better. If you didn't like that, you most likely won't care for this release.
@FanOfBARNEY - To offer a second opinion, I'd highly suggest picking this one up. I would have settled for a collection of the modern Christmas episodes ('Winter', 'Gift of the Dinos', and 'A Visit to Santa') but having new material to go with them (Especially the 'Nutcracker' bit) make this much more special. I'll certainly be watching this one at least once when December comes along. (BTW, I didn't care much for 'Big World Adventure (I borrowed a copy from a public library))
@supergodzilla12 In terms of enjoyment and quality, I agree this video was better. Maybe it's because those holiday episodes were all pretty awesome, along with amazing new footage (which I've never really said about any current clip show). By better, I meant that Big World Adventure was a better "clip show" as that video edited the episode footage down and kept the best parts. Generally, that's why I greatly disliked "Let's Play Outside". It's a clip show, not an "insert episode here" show.
@purpledinocorner - Oh, I see what you mean. Personally, I don't mind which clip-show format they use, so long as the video in entertaining. (I didn't like 'Let's Play Outside' too much either, but that's mostly because the episodes in it weren't that great to begin with.) Actually, I probably wouldn't have liked this video had they used the other format. I'm just glad we got this, instead of the UK's 'Christmas Time' release.
@supergodzilla12 - For all those wondering, 'Christmas Time' is an episode DVD, released only in the UK, that includes 'Gift of the Dinos', 'A Visit to Santa', and 'It's a Happy Day'.
I got this DVD on Friday (Early shipment of a pre-order), and I was so happy to hear this song again. Hopefully, the new company (Cross your fingers for Saban Brands XD) continues to put classic songs in the new videos/episodes.
@supergodzilla12 I really hope Saban gets Barney and Thomas at least (if not all of the HIT catalogue), especially how they revive declining franchises (Barney has been declining since the early 2000's, sadly). HIT's been working to revive Barney, so Saban could only help the process.
Oh and Scott, I love the pun in the description. XD
@supergodzilla12 While I know Thomas is likely to go to a different company than Barney and co, many Thomas fans want him to go to Saban as well, so I'm hoping they get both franchises. The articles I read on the matter say that the franchises COULD be sold individually or together (minus Thomas, who has his own division of HIT).
im sorry for this response but when i was young my barney was dark blue and purple i was born in 1992 this pink think must be some gay barney

This is just a random note, but you know what would've made this release even better? A bonus CD. But hey, that's just me.

barney fits in a tux real smooth but redubbing his voice on chrismas is our favorite time of year was not a good idea

@TruelySonicHOG Yeah, and hopefully they should do some Barney Sing-Along tour to promote some of the videos. (I dobut THAT will happen).

@rod1014 Rodney, I doubt they would do that, IMO. But hey, whatever makes you happy.
