I saw them last night in Tucson. They were fucking insane. Oh yeah, if he wanted to recreat a SOAD record, they'd get together and make another album. This isn't supposed to be a SOAD recreation. Of course their will be similarities since Daron was the primary songwriter for SOAD. Also, Scars is supposed to be much more rock oriented. Either way, both bands kick ass and I look forward to hearing more from them.
