  • Hey! Can I destroy the BITMAPs and MIDIs in a destructor? it would be really helpfull!. :D Thanks. XD. :P

  • @Kajidimeh92 Heya- Actually, you can. What would be handy would be a "Manager" class. For instance, an "ImageManager" would hold a dynamic array of BITMAP items, and would be responsible for loading in all your images when the game loads. In the destructor of the "ImageManager", you could have it iterate through the list of BITMAPs and destroy them all.

  • Thank you for the awesome tutorials! xD

  • @6littleMERMAIDS No problem! thanks for watching!

  • These tutorials are great. I just recently decided to try c++ or programming in general but these are a big help.

  • I have watched this like a year ago, but only decided now that I will make my own Pickin' Sticks.

  • @SolvedSnake Gambatte!

Let me know if you need any help.

  • @LusikkaMage

Yay, thanks! I'm making it with SFML! ^_^

  • hey man can u give me the source code for this game ? i am not going to sell it or anything like that xD.

  • @hemagoku The game is open-source anyway, but for the moment the actual page for it is down (I'm remodeling, and it's a huge page...)

You can get a really old version off my old deviantart: Find kadotuksen-lusikka on DA, then in the gallery look under click the "Game downloads" folder.

The game is so super basic, though, you really shouldn't need the source. I have collision detection code in numerous other places you can look at.

  • @LusikkaMage thanks ,but would been nicer if u had the full version ,aa also how can i make my exe have an icon ?

  • @LusikkaMage aa and sry if i sounded rude or anything i didn't mean ,add "xD" after "version" in the last post then read xD .

  • I just finished your tutorials going to try to make my own pick n stick wish me luck=)

  • @bluecoolaid112 Goodluck!

  • Cool ^.^

  • Love your method of teaching thanks

  • i've only just finished watching the second half of these tutorials :)

  • I love the fact that you didn't just spoon feed us the script like most other 'teachers' on youtube.

    :D thanks

  • Hahaha, I love that readme :p.

  • These tutorials are awesome. I'm hoping to learn enough C++ to actually get started before you release the next one.

  • Go, go, go, Rachel! Im loving these lessons.

  • cant wait till next Episode!! i love your tuts thanks Moosey!

  • excellent cant wait to see that tutorial

  • can't wait for the next in the series!

  • These seems like the best place to say thanks for the tutorials.

I finally went back to C++ after having done almost nothing but console based crap (very basic, for giggles). Before I had looked at SDL once, but never did anything with it, and only graphical thing I ever did was copying from a book on DirectX8.1.

Now I know SDL fairly well, I finally started using object orientation, and I produced a small game, and am working on a bigger on with AI etc.

So I owe a lot to you, so thanks :)

  • can't wait for the next in the series! keep it up!

  • An excellent conclusion to a very well written/recorded set of tutorials :D
