  • ACTION MAN HAHAHAHA

  • LA LEGION N AS QU UN EGAL LES SAS

  • The French making Foriegners into indestructable Homos!

  • @15230 Coming from some fat assed civilian who thinks Call of Duty is real combat.

  • @TheBardicDruid USMC 1994-98 0861 BitchDruid

  • @15230 Ah marine, figures, you know there's other units out there that make the marines look like little girls. It's a fact of the life, the marines aren't the begin all, end all of the military.

  • @TheBardicDruid USMC, we fight for the US. We are not run away criminals dodging the law like 70% of Legionaires. Thats why they treat them like Dogs because they are not French and most likely Criminals. If you like this shit Sign The Muther Fuckin Contract.

  • @15230 I've been in sticky situations with US Army, USMC, Navy, and several foreign units. And sorry to break your heart but the USMC isn't all that special, their just another bunch of grunts just like the rest.

  • @TheBardicDruid The Grunt is the King of the Battlefield! Why would you want to be anything else.

  • @15230 OO-RAH! Long live the Queen of Battle. Glad to see this. God & I love the truck drivers, but to BE one? Nooooo. Gropos get it done (if the gd gov't would let us).

  • @TheBardicDruid Well put. Marines are great....just ask 'em. 11B was the thing to be.

  • @TheBardicDruid Bet you wouldn't whisper a hint of that trash to his face.

  • @triarii11 I didn't, I'm usually nose to nose and say it loud enough to make the jarhead hears it.

  • Does 2REP have to do this shit or do they do different training? Because I want to join 2REP. Hopefully ill be in the FFL in around two years once I finish school and get fit enough.

  • @bushpigification

You don't "choose" where you go in The Legion. They send you where they want.

  • @bushpigification i think that all legion troops have training course in jungle i think it is 6 weeks, and alsow desert training course in Jibouti, and mountain course in French Alpes, but some units are specialized for some tipe of warfare like 3 REI is for jungle or 13 DBLE is for desert but all of them have chrash courses outside of thers specialization. And 2 REP is considhered most elite regiment so they probably have those kind of courses.

  • I could have done without this final part ,soldiers in drag, not cool man...

  • Vive la Mort, Vive la Guerre, Vive la Sacre mercenaire! Vive la Legion!!

  • i'm 15 atm but thinkin of joining thm whn i turn 18

  • @Killerbow1995 DO IT! If you have a girlfriend then, don't let her be a dream killer. I'm 31 and wished I did it when I was 19.

    Women are DREAM KILLERS.

    Legio Patria Nostra

  • 1:59 we did this tower when we were in higschool,it was a 3 storey one.

But ofcourse not in a jungle after a day of excruciating training , and we had luxury to choose lightest guys for toward top of tower.

    This is PAIN!

  • wow they can kick my ass and do it while wearing a dress. only in france man.

  • at 0:29 thats is my colonel of 2 REI

  • less chu chu more pew pew.

ffl pretty bad ass for all the shit they put up with in the obstacle courses but this training looks next to poinless compared to sas's jungle training stint apart from being able to put up with hardships of obstacle courses all day

  • @Langalino That's only one part of the training in the metal war imposed to new recruits to make them flinch, if they don't, they'll go on to do more purposeful things...

  • Im not French or American. But just wanted to point out he said the fastest and slowest times. Didnt say there was another group of marines who had done it etc. mabey that group were just being lazy. i dont know. just thought id point that out

  • Sorry but if the USMC are stupid and lazy enough to take Pepsi out on missions instead of water?

  • @dynamicz108 Once...just one small time, say something similar to a Marine or Infantry. See what occurs. If you were too busy, in school, "couldn't take orders", or whatever chicken$#@& reason to avoid joining when u were younger, piss off. Not "heros," just men & women, but they stood up. Where are you?

  • legion etrangere is the best,i am albanian so i am not french, being albanian allows me to join and this is my intention,i am 20,when i reach 25 i become a legionaire, what do ya think ppl?

  • Be sure this is what you really want. If you are sure I wish you all the best ! Hope you make it (in and out alive! ). I'm thinking to join to.

  • French can join the FFL. They merely "change" their nationality on their initial 5-year enlistment contract. They'll claim they are from Belgium, Switzerland or are French-Canadian.

  • I talked to a US marine and asked him who is the best. I mentioned the Royal Marines and he said NO the French foreign legion is the toughest he has seen.

  • The Roman Empire lasted for 2000 years, compared to it the Commonwealth has been nothing but the blink of an eye and the modern "American Empire" is nothing at all. Italy WON WW1 and during the middle ages the italian City States were powerful: Venice ruled the mediterranean sea for centuries...

  • ...Italy wasn't prepared for WW2, that's true. That was one of Mussolini's greatest mistakes, but some italian troops fought very well despite their dramatic lack of issues: the Alpini in Russia, the Folgore paratroopers in Africa and the famous "X MAS" frogmen for example.

  • that always depends on WHERE you see them. They look skilled in jungle-warfare, but who do you think would've done better in winter-warfare of ffl and for example hsk of norway? Just saying. All are tough in their own enviroment

  • they do train in the winter in a northern country too...they train in all types of environment....they even set them out to the desert too....so they get tough survival tips on every terrain

  • Sharp looking troops

  • Ennio Morecone FTW

  • the legion is bad ass!!!!

whoever doubts there toughness of these men and the rigour of their training is a dummy and probaly couldnt survive boot camp in the salvation army much less then elite infantry like the legion and 101 AIRBORNE

  • the guns are back

écoutez vous piqûre stupide, vous n'avez jamais servi dans la légion, et certainement pas avec le représentant 2 car je vous connaîtrais car chacun a leur photo vers le haut dans le régiment.

cessez de bullshiting de petits enfants

  • What are you advertising?

  • if anyone is joining or joined can u let me no what the accomidation and camp life is like thanks

  • I think the band just started to learn how to play...

  • i served in the royal marines 88-92 40 cdo went civvy st hated it joined legion served with 2nd rep in calve corsica, believe me, test me if you want the legion is fucked, training is a joke and not hard what so ever, they wouldnt know what the word tactical was if it smacked them in the head, listen to martgonzo he knows what he is talking about

  • well maby the royal marines toughend you up a bit first makeing the legion easyer for you then others?

And if it is so ez, whats the high drop out rate about?

  • 1 French ppl are not allowed in the legion. Even tho a few still manage to join.

2 It took 7hours for the USMC to finish the obsticle course that took the legion 45min to finish.

    According to these vids.

Wouldent Vietnam be a better pick of bailing situation?

  • there are french in the legion

  • The French are allowed to join, but because of some tradition the recruit is asked to sign a contract with an 'adopted' nationality and name change. After 12 months they can 'regularise' their paperwork and assume their true name and nationality.

  • @pleinlesbollox its to protect recruits that have a bad past so everyone enter on an even footing

  • "Well my dick is bigger then yours"

What you are saying is idiotic, Us always wants to measure dick and want to be in every conflict for control, Us are pathetic idiots that only wants to control the world. Without their nukes Us and worth shit.

  • @thegunsareback how did u serve 2 years, first contract is 5 years and then after that initial contract only then u can sign 6 months contracs, but first one is 5 years.Only way to get out after two years alive of course is either to suffer some heavy injury,or to get some seriouse health problems that will prevent u to do tasks u are asked to do in legion.

  • Is the G2 5.56 any good?

  • yes.

  • its a joke dude. and if you dont see (appresiate moreso) the humor in that then i dont suggest going...

  • yea there tough as mate, i know that. i dont really give a shit what they do in there sparetime to be honest.

  • Not homosexual dude. One of the best parts of being in any military is the "esprit de corps" you build with your brothers in arms. This is just one of the many strange traditions you'll find in any military unit to that end. In this case I imagine that it humbles the officers a little bit, humanizes them in the eyes of the troops. Plus its a chance to get shitfaced and laugh at each other. Don't take it too seriously. Try crossing the equator on a Navy ship sometime, strange stuff there.

  • It's only a once a year thing each January called "Fete de rois".

It's a tradition of the officers inviting the NCO's to their mess for New Years wishes and an alcohol induced fancy dress and buffet.

The morning starts with a football game (Soccer) of 11 vs 11, this degenerates into a mass scrum of Officers outnumbered on one side with NCO's on the other.

Next stop Officers mess, with 20 or so picked for fancy dress following a protocol depending on regimental functions & rank.

    Its NOT homo!

  • I get that it's not gay bro. I was actually trying to explain the strange behaviour inherent to military culture to the guy who said it was gay. One of those things that if a guy isn't a part of it, he ain't gonna understand.

  • i've heard some crazy things happen while crossing the equator

  • @dusty8512 , I think they've imposed a bunch of PC regulations now so it's not as interesting. I crossed and beame a "Trusty Shellback" in about '91 and it was an experience for sure. It is the only time I know of when rank means nothing. An Army Colonel went through it with us and I give him credit, he actually seemed to enjoy himself.

  • Trusty Shellback?

  • @dusty8512 One who has been through the "ceremony", one who has not is a "wog" short for pollywog.

  • i still have my grandfathers trusty shellback card he recieved after wog day in 1944...pretty cool...it looks almost like my cousins..he got his in 2002.

  • @RAIZEDBYWOLVEZ That's cool man. One thing about the Navy is that they're real big on tradition. There's a bunch of them but crossing the equator is the most memorable for me

  • @mhia4 back shell?

  • @ScotteDio Dude, you're ex navy. You know what that is. Unless you managed to block the experience from your mind.lol

  • the band sucks...

  • lol for all those who think that the army of their country is better than the legion (mostly americans).i'll tell you now that i serve in one of the NATO countries, which means the training standard that i am familiar with is close to all other NATO countries. and its NOTHING compared to this. (i am talkin conventional units,SF is a diff story)

  • well the regualr british army infantry regiments have 24 weeks basic training, for paras and marines its 32 weeks. the ffl is 15 weeks exactly the same as the regular french army, it even states on their website that the training is EXACTLY the same as the regular french army.

  • It has to be exactly the same as the French regulars because of budget restrictions.

The FFL can't say "we have to teach our lads French" as an excuse, as thats not viable. Once affected to their operational regiments, Legionnaires receive complimentary training depending on their speciality. As in any job, there is continuous assessments and training over the career.

  • i may be wrong but isnt the Royal Marines boot 45 weeks

  • @martgonzo basic training, but this is not basic training,u first go thru basic training and then on results u show on that training an depending of legion demand u get deployed to diferent regiment. This ppl have all passed basic training and got deployed in 3 REI,it is clearly said in first part of movie. This is begining of specialization training and conditioning for jungle warfare wich is specialization of 3 REI,this is not basic training at all.

  • okay, what are u talking about as im interested in joining?

  • if i were to guess id say you're Canadian what Regiment are you with

  • dang .. hardcore .

    respect for these guys !

  • Bloody brilliant documentary!

    I wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes.

    Full respect!

  • "Climb on his head!" at 3:20 - classic-

  • haha best line

  • Vive la France!!!

  • woah, KKK at 4:37

  • Hahaha :D nice one

  • wow some men. unbelievable

  • Aye, typical of French culture but. They work their arses off all day so that at the end they can dress in women's clothes and drink wine.

lol, only kidding. These guys are hard as nails and have one hell of a job to do. They've got my respect.

  • they have my respect too these soldier are very courajous to go in legion..

  • People who write stupid comments such as "weak bastards", "russian soldiers would beat the crap out of them i five minutes" etc. don't have a slightest clue what they're talking about, neither do they know how hard the FFL is, especially the joungle course. These soldiers are all extremely hard to have come this far, and they all have my respect!

  • Tak

    Det stemmer hva du skrever

  • i want in. where and how do i apply.

  • Jobcentre mate......

  • to join up that is. Adding to my previous line. To any and all who served in Collioure and Mont-Louis, at their garrison School, Bon chance.

  • A really awesome series. All are very realistic, nothing added for the cameras here, folks. They are a tough bunch. Choosing a life such as this...you become hardened pretty fast. No, I'm not an ex-Legionare, I've only had the privledge to have trained at one of their Commando Schools...and this was nothing shy of a shit kicking, let me be that blunt and honest. They have my respect and admiration. If I were young and fresh out of school again, without any map in life...it'd be an awesome.

  • Glad you all enjoyed the show and glad to see the war of meaningless words that plagued the comments on the previous clips finally dried up. I am amazed my comment on the visiting Marines caused such a stir. I was only repeating something I'd been told, not something I had any hard proof on. I would never allow myself to critise any army, any soldier. Anyone who has served his (or her) time in any army deserves our admiration.

  • mad bastards !

  • Great video. are you legionar??

  • concentrated suck. Total respect to the legion.

  • excellent soldiers

  • Bad ass... These guys rock!

  • great videos of 1 to 5 all five videos are great. very funny at the end and so great party to. I love that in french foreign legion:)

  • Right on. Good men.

  • LEGIO PARTIA NOSTRA !!!!!!!

  • ...Patria...

  • Better than the Legion? Only if you're smoking crack:-D

  • this is x100 times suckier than my military trainin.. I am shocked that they put very little emphasis on safety. V dangerous, their training! Basically they rox!

  • finally, no comments from ppl who've never been in the forces boasting about how their nations armies are better than the legion

  • I'm not suprised by the lack of comments by people like that at this end of the videos. Those types of people think they have the stamina too complete a course such as that of the FFL, yet they don't have the attention span too watch five videos. After watching five minutes of video or documentary, or read the first five pages of a book on any subject they think that they know everything...

    cheers

  • They are truly Great~!

  • Vive la Legion Etrangere !!!

  • loool!!

  • Unit cohension with class.

  • great video

  • great !!!vive le legionairs!
