I have the same guitar, but didn't drill it to install the pick-guard. Instead, I used a screwless pickguard from "bobby lee signature series dot com"
That's Dave Hineman playing the nice iced tea burst Gibson Les Paul standard. I hae the same guitar, but didn't drill it to install the pick-guard. Instead, I used a screwless pickguard from "bobby lee signature series dot com"
I'm sure these guys will tell you themselves that they are not better than the real thing. If you close your eyes though, it would be hard to tell the difference. I also have to salute them for doing a damn fine ZZ Top show and not wearing cheesy-ass fake beards.
You can only go so far as a cover/tribute band, but I must hand it to them; these guys play those ZZ classics pretty damn good. I hate to admit it, but Billy himself seem to have stiffened up a bit over the years, and he can no longer play these riffs with the youthful ease that this guy does.
WTF is this an ugly contest? C who can B the most hideous Walmart trash? That really is all Americans R good 4 I guess - getting their legs blown off in Iran. Good riddance. They literally take pride in how disgusting they can make themselves.
@FloormanofAlabama The tone is OK - not the best - 2 much lower midrange, & no 'evolution' 2 it (kind of flat). Could B worse. The horrible part is these men R totally repulsive looking, which destroys all entertainment value. U may as well put bowls of steaming cow poop on stage - would B more fun 2 look @! =))
If I wasn't watchin, only listenin, I'd say that's Billy G, Frank and Dusty...ZZ Top should be proud. Imulation is the most sincere form of flattery...
....booed off stage in Australia? well then fuck those 'shipped-out convict throwback's' Better than the real thing?-fuck off!-they're a cover band for christ's sake- and Yes they are good! but they did'nt write any of this...get real!

These guys are better than the real ZZ Flop , after seeing ZZ Top on the Crossroads Gutiar Festival DVD and i saw them the last time they toured Australia when they got Booed off stage as they were so Sloppy and were just not interested in Playing.
can anyone else post or direct me to videos or a website for these guys? Honestly, they are better on stage than Billy G musically (Billy never was much of a live player, he's more of a showman)
If these guys tour. I would kill to go see them. I think they are out of the mid-west? Really the best tribute band I have ever seen. Right up there w/ the Fab Faux for authenticity
One of best sounding tribute guitar ever heard! Would you please tell me with what equipment you were using at this show to create this incredible Billy G tone.
