"They say a raven came to your bed, as you lay in your dreams. Whispering things of such earthly delight, stealing my sweetheart from me." Seriously, I wish I knew how to write lyrics like this. So gorgeous.
@Itrustknowone says the who listens to electronic shit. you have to be deaf to even say this is bad music. Sorry they actually play instruments and sing flawlessly instead of screwing around with computer generated sounds.
I am mesmerized. I know in folklore, ravens are said to steal souls- perhaps that is what the lyrics mean. When I first saw the video, I thought, "Cathy and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights." The lyrics tell a somewhat different story. Does anyone out there know if this is a traditional folk song or based on a legend? Much appreciation to the person who made this video - thank you for reminding me that there are some who see the world as I do.
@heidifaery i know that what i thought!! i loved that book, but i got confused halfway through the song. i know in folklore it is also said that a raven shows up when somone has died... hmmm this was a very beautiful song though^^
@theangelkap Thanks for your comment! Yeah, I got confused halfway through the song as well. You are correct - ravens show up when someone dies. I agree with you - very beautiful song and video. If you like this song, you may like a video on YouTube called Tri Martolod by Shannon, a group from Poland. Great video - knights, a shaman, and a knight dying and merging with a wolf. Enjoy!
