  • You remind me of my cousin from Canada who is Polish but has live din Canada most of his life.

  • hehehe sam planowałem kiedys zrobic taki filmik ale ciągle czuje sie jakos dziwnie mowiac do kamery i stresuje mnie fakt ze ktos to bedzie ogladal i ciagle sie myle :P

  • I see this was posted a few months back, but I'm commenting anyways. You're doing quite well, keep it up. I would recommend practicing your grammar more than your accent. Americans (I am one) Love foreign accents; we melt. :)

  • Your English is excellent!

  • @PToohey79

Well, in general everyone has an accent:D

  • I'm polish and in UK people telling me all the time, that I've got accent like a Australian - I dont know why :p

  • Shoot, man....You could be from east Baltimore, Maryland..via Canada..

    Good work though!

  • Your American accent is very good ^_^ It could flow a bit better but I am very impressed. Good job! My grandfather was Polish... that was a bit random but yeah... Great job though :)

  • I watched both videos and I must say, your accent improved immensely. This one was actually quite convincing, though not quite there. I'd suggest working on the "a" (as in hard), the "o" (as in love) and the "r" (as in learn)...those are the ones that stood out the most to me.

Also, there were a couple of awkward pauses; however, I assume this is because you weren't sure about what to say.

    Overall, good job. 8/10

  • hej! :)

moglbys mi powiedziec, ile lat uczysz sie angielskiego? czy trudne byly poaczatku nauki akcentu? ja wlasnie staram sie nauczyc mowic z amerykanskim akcentem, ale idzie mi raczej ciezko. od 2miesicy mieszkam w us i strasznie mnie irytuje pytanie "skad jestes" albo ciagle wytykanie akcentu... masz jakies metody? i czy ludzie z us biora cie za native? :)

    dzieki! :)

• because in common american speak we can tell what parts of america your from by your accent

  • you're speaking what I like to call television english.

  • @PToohey79 would you specify?

  • :*

  • That's pretty impressive. Now, please tell me how you were able to learn American accent, considering you seem to be located in Poland. I've been in US for 14 years but only recently embarked on a quest to completely eradicate Polish accent from my speech.

BTW, I totally agree with you about British vs. American accents. The former is too pompous and annoying.

  • @vethum well, thank you for the compliment. I don't really know if it's good enough, but I just watch American talk shows and comedy series for 1 hour each day, paying close attention to how they produce sounds, full focus, no thinking:)

  • @ninjakick1983 Oh, it's good enough, even though I'm a native Polish speaker so, perhaps, I'm not a perfect judge here. But, I doubt anyone in US would be torturing you with questions about where you were from, like I have been. Somehow, I don't quite believe you were able get so good at this only by watching TV. I've been listening to American accent 16 hours a day for the last 14 years and my accent still isn't as good as yours. So what's the real story, dude? :-) How old are you?

  • @vethum thank you:) but, no, I've only been watching stuff on youtube:) I always made sure that it was loud enough so that no sounds would escape my notice. ( I just turned 28 ) At some point I tried to learn both American and British accent at the same time, but it just doesn't work;) It's just so different. "Letter" in UK and US sounds totally different;) Greetings from Poland

  • @vethum Maybe it is your tongue. People from Europe also have different attitudes about things, so the energy is different. Europeans know that they aren't the center of the universe, and they awknowledge other cultures (though not necessarily respect) Americans think Europeans are magical, mystical creatures that don't exist in reality. That's why it is easy for a European guy to get laid in Wisconsin.

  • @smellthedailyfresh Maybe in Wisconsin :-) It probably depends on which specific European accent you have. I don't think Polish accent is among one of the most alluring ones, unfortunately. Far from it, I think, but can't be sure as nobody will ever tell you this to your face. Anyway, I've been actively working on my US accent for 6 months now and may even expose it on youtube for public scrutiny, although Adam here raised the bar pretty high so it'd be tough to go after him.

  • @vethum I'm an American. I like the Polish accent. It's adorable. It's kind of sing-song and quirky. I think it is better to have a Polish accent than a Russian accent. It's more friendly. I think Polish people are interesting. I've met a few Poles, and they are judgemental, but they have a great sense of humor. Polish people throw the best parties. They seem to be fatalistic, but with hope for an afterlife, they believe in a heaven, which is inspiring.

  • @smellthedailyfresh Americans are equally judgmental; they just hide it much better. :-) They try to be polite, even if they hate you, which is commendable. :-) Some flavors of Polish humor are indeed delicious. The humor is generally about making fun of life, as opposed to making fun of people, which seems to be the norm in US. I'm not a typical Pole because I don't like parties or believe in afterlife, but, yes, you wouldn't find many 1st gen. Polish immigrants like this in US.

  • @vethum How can you not like parties? That was the best thing. When everyone gets together at someone's house, with a bottle of something, and some smoked sausages, and that black bread with the european butter and the pickled tomatoes, and everyone speaking loudly, making jokes. I really miss my Polish friends.

  • @smellthedailyfresh I love parties in theory, but never in practice due to personal anxiety issues that make me afraid of people having too much fun around me. But, I'm utterly with you on the sausage and Polish bread. Now, that's heaven. Who needs afterlife if you're at arm's length from premium Polish sausage and bread? Addition of fresh tomatoes and butter would probably make this into an undeniable nirvana. Sounds like there's has been a lot of fun going on in Wisconsin. Ever tried Bigos?

  • Great. Now Poland's Invading Youtube.

    Or Atleast It's Trying To. --- >;3

  • buhahahahaha buhaha wtat's a polish dude buhaha;p
