i dont think the hair is copying jonny but the weird noise improv was obviously Jonny inspired, but the weird noise improv sounds fricken cool. Jonny and Jimmy Page are my two biggest influences as a guitarist.

When I recorded this I just had a Zoom G2 multi-effects thing. I believe the only patches I used for this were overdrive and some compression.

Yeah, that doesn't work normally though. He has a small piece of metal sticking out the bottom at the end of his fretboard that he hooks the string round to act as another fret for the past-neck bending action.

@sylvainmiroufle: He's untuned cos the recording of the Bends is tuned standard but with higher Hz level (like 446 instead of standard 440)

What string gauge are you using? I usually go for 10-46. Strings break from time to time anyway - I broke two within a week a while ago, one playing Just (understandable) and the other playing some Turin Brakes song (?!).

it just feels like they're gonna break so i don't do it...

They're more durable than you might think! It doesn't really matter though, just play however you feel comfortable.

I have tried to play this but it still doesn't sound like yours or radiohead's the bends. I have the tab book but some parts are hard to understand. The part before the second chorus isn't even in it. what do you play there? and the part after the high part of the solo is hard.

I don't think it's particularly difficult, no. It's good fun though!

The intro and chorus are based around the D and Cadd9 chords. The verse is Em, G and C.

Just have a look at some videos of them playing it live and try and work out what he's doing. If you need more help then look up some tabs.
