@MajCinematic Weezer, Blind Melon, Urge Overkill, The Black Crowes, Sublime......they are not depressing, its perspective.
there will be depressing music in any decade. This song is okay, and Im not that bit a fan of the band, but to tar them as depressing is a bit simplistic
seen them one year at a summer festival an when this song started everyone started throwing water bottles and dirt clogs in the air, it went perfect with the song.
I dont know if anyone has discovered this, maybe, its been 15 years, but leave this last track run and there's a hidden jam. I discovered by accident then, when the cd ended and I forgot to take it off. Still listen to this album to this day, one song after another is great. I think I love "Giants" the best. Drowning a close second, but really the whole album is great beginning to end.
I remember this so well!! I heard the song plowed on the radio and ran to the record store to buy it!! still own it!! was searchin for something different and thats what i got!! one of the most real cd's i have ever owned!! these guys never even got real big, too much focus on tits and angst!! these cats wrote of love!! and pain!!
is this how the first wave of cure and smith lovers felt when they were near their 30's? i love my gen's music. kids these days dont know good music! now thats an old statement! lol!
what is this? the 5:00 version!? doesn't anyone realize this is a 12:00 song? theres a GREAT part after all of this! I love this song! someone should upload the whole version!
A hidden track, "Candy Corn," begins 2 minutes after "Rainin'" ends. This song is hidden in the negative space between Track 10 and Track 11. "Candy Corn" has a run time of 5:54. When the CD is played on a computer, "Candy Corn" appears to be part of Track 10, making the running time of "Rainin'" 12:57.
... and candycorn is one of my favourite songs off this CD.. the opening chords are pure melancholy and sadness... remind me of mayonaise from the pumpkins btw
@skylinegtr96 You're right about that my friend!!! This record is absolutely ultra cosmic!!!!!! You're a fool if you're any kind of rock fan and don't own this record!!!
did the same with a good drinkin/band buddie... nothing like a few joints, cold beer, some odd lights and this album blarring till 5am... Exellent choice not a bad tune for chilling on the album and yes back in the FUN ASS 90'S WORD to that... did you party at the studio lounge in westaland as well?
Im going to see them Tommorow night at the Double Door in Chicago,i need a date any cute girl from Chicago,message me,we should have a great time.There one of my heart of hearts.

@MajCinematic
Umm....not really. You want depressing music rewind back a decade and go into the 80's and listen to the cure. That's depressing,

Sponge: definitely the hidden gem of mid 90's alternative rock. Anyone that really is into the mid 90's cannot disagree. This band is amazing.
