  • And since everyone is sharing opinions here is my 2 cents. I cant stand Slash or Kock Hamlet. lol

  • Why do people have the need to convince everyone else that their opinion is the Golden Truth? Cant we accept the fact that when dealing with toptier players like Buckethead, Bumblefoot, MAB, PG ect, there is no such thing as "Best" or "Better". THere is only one persons opinion of "best' or 'better. Now of cource opinion may be informed or uninformed, but either way its still subjective

  • I guess I'll just start selling hot dogs.

  • his thumb nails are really long.....

  • @itsTHOMP he can't use the pinky nail,..so that's how he snorts his amphetamines to be able to play superhumanly fast....or maybe he just snorts straight rocket fuel...j/k I'm sure he don't do dat shit...

  • Now I have to get a thimble...

  • too many notes

  • @ledzeppelin4485 You'd love 4:33.

  • in Ex.4 , any 1 can tell me plz the name of that classical piece and 4 who?

  • Comment removed

  • Saying Bumblefoot is better than Buckethead is rediculous. Thats like saying Beethoven was better than Mozart. All any one can say is "my opinion" is or I like them better. Like and Dislike are relative just like beauty. The last person I would describe as one dimensional is Buckethead but than I have listened to him since 1990 and have his complete disc. He is actualy one of the most versatile players in my opinion

  • @by0nd

The term "better" in the guitar world basically means a player employing more innovative techniques and utilizing musical knowledge in more interesting ways than another. I find myself listening to Bucket more even though he lacks the amount of technical ideas that Ron has. While Bucket's songs are highly patterned and recycled he does come up with many tasty-sounding riffs and licks too good to pass up on. It all depends on the ear of the beholder. They're both great in their own way.

  • @by0nd I have his complete disc too. Followed him since the Bucketheadland blueprints (before 1990) He's a pattern player of the highest order. Eons behind Bumble on all dimensions....

  • @o0Slipdisc0o Again my point, is that its relative to the listener which player is better. You say Bumblefoot is a superior guitar player but there are just as many people who would as wouldnt agree with you.

I hear alot of complaints about Buckethead that it 'all sounds the same". Well when you have a body of work, thats 10 times larger than most guitar players, you will get that. Bumblefoot has what?? 7 Albums? Not to hard to showcase originality in only 7 offerings in almost 20 years

  • @o0Slipdisc0o And when I say 'original' I mean original to yourself. Versus using the same melodic ideas or techniques. I honestly like them both. I think they both are unique and have their own thing going. I also like guys totaly diffearant like Stephen Forte, Kiko L., Tak Matsumoto.....

Jarnarms explanation of "better" simply proves my point, that its all relative/subjective, because 'using musical knowledge in more interesting ways" is subjective. Lary LeLand is very creative to me

  • @o0Slipdisc0o

I think Jonas Hellborg described Bucket best when he said, "Buckethead is a very interesting guy. He's a very nice, smart young man and has his own kind of aesthetic that can seem limiting, but he definitely has a musical language and something to say. He's definitely different." It still applies today. Bucket separates himself from other players in this regard, able to create song after song without ever having to abandon his own distinguishable patterned style.

  • This first piece he plays in this vid, does anyone know the name of the song and album its from? Also anyone get the tab from Young guitar?

  • @by0nd guitars suck it is nd i dont know the album

  • hes like a tapping Jason Becker

  • toca bien el hijo de puta

  • Hes lucky, he doesnt have to practice

  • Comment removed

  • Bumblefoot is WICKED on Guitar

  • AMAZING..

  • "Guitars Suck" is the name

  • What is the name of this bumblefoot song?

  • what's the name of this amazing song pleaaaaaaaaase.

  • @pepectm the first song is "guitar sucks" chord progression Am Dm G C F Bdim E Am follow these arpeggios and you've got it the hard part is his technique which is blisterring!(fuckin amazing) in the second one(8:00~) is chopin fantasie

  • I hate the thing he does with that pinky thing. It's just horrible...

  • Thats a perfectly intonated guitar

  • Soul and feeling are the most important. Thats why I love BUckethead as he puts alot of feeling into his very eccentric shreding, but being soulful doesnt mean you cant play fast. Playing fast has its place . But like everything its not what you do but how you do it or use it.

  • GnR got used to having a guitar player that could actualy play and use more than penatonics to solo ie Buckethead, so they had to get a new guy that shreds and could fill Buckets shoes, and Bumblefoot does shred. Very sick player though I know almost nothing about him, and never heard of him prior to his jamming with the Guns.

  • 3:48 He's just shaking off the invisible flames on his hand.

  • First time I've listened to this guy. He's pretty good. He aint no Buckethead or Paul Gilbert, but damn he can shred.

  • @RiceKiller191 You're right, he is eons beyond Buckethead's and Paul Gilbert's, scalar, one dimensional, nondecatuplet based offerings. Ron is more a player of the magnitude of Guthrie Govan, Alan Holdsworth and Shawn Lane. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more interesting than Gilbert and Bucket put together...

  • @o0Slipdisc0o Well, thats debatable lol. I'm more of a fan of Bucketheads work myself.

  • I appreciate his technical skills. But it was as enjoyable as a hot poker up yer a++e.

Where has all the melody and soul gone from playing? It's just play as fast and technical as possible. Horrible.

  • @niptodstan Soul is measured by the one playing, not by who is listening.

  • @niptodstan

Uh, did you even watch HALF of the video, bro?

  • YEAH

  • Ron is perfect for Guns N' Roses, Nuff Said!.

  • Bumblefoot is not too good for Guns N' Roses, thats like saying Eddie Van Halen is too good for Van Halen if he was then why would he create it, he make it because he wanted to make that band one of the greatest rockbands to ever step foot on this Earth. Ron joined Guns N' Roses because they needed a lead guitarists, and Ron can do solo too at the same time as with Guns N' Roses. I mean come-on guys - THINK BEFORE YOU SAY!. PLEASE

  • Its so amazing, some messages ,like: Why is he wasting his talent with Guns N Roses.... I meen come on!! Ron is a bizar guitarist and Im a HUGE fan of his solo work... but I'm a Guns fan to... and I think Ron reaches a bigger audience, thats a good thing!!

  • @marcjuh11 Hes not wasting his time, hes making history and a name out of himself, Hes A Guitar God!. Nuff Said

  • @Estranged68 Yeah thats exactly what I meen:) Its nice that Ron gets exposure for a bigger audience:)

  • If anything, Ron is too good for GnR

  • @Pianoblacks modern GnR*

  • @_@ 7:53 - Chopin - Fantasie Impromtu

  • I'm gonna need some help picking my jaw up off the floor.

  • I just got a carpel tunnel from that....holy shit

  • 3:49 shake hands ahahhaha

  • Comment removed

  • lol the song guitars suck might as be called "how to get carpal tunnel and quit guitar at the same time"

  • Satan's his father, not Guy and his name is Ron.

  • Why is he wasting his talent with Guns N Roses?

  • @wabbadu1 The paycheck!!! LOL

  • @wabbadu1 money

  • @wabbadu1 haters!!!

  • @wabbadu1 MONEYYYYYYYY AND PROMOTION

  • @wabbadu1 cuz they probably make shit tons of money hand over fist...and he can still shred guitar solos...

  • So when will Buckethead and Bumblefoot finally get together so the marshmellow man can crush Manhattan?

  • @brainphreak

True that. We never got to see the Shawn Lane-Buckethead collaboration so I hope these two will at least do a recording. Perhaps both sharing guitar duties and Ron singing. Yeah!

  • he has a sick jumper!

  • @crazyboyxx

I love Shawn Lane, he is my main inspiration of playing guitar. Then Vai, Buckethead, Norum, etc.

  • Trying to learn Guitars Suck has given me blisters all over me hands... Sad days...

  • He's probably the most inventive guitar player ever ! Great !!

  • sounds like shred ELO

  • @crazyboyxx Why always classifying? Better - Best! Each of them is unique. You like it or not - everythings a matter of taste - that's all.

  • I really hope he uses these skills on the next GN'R album... something like "Shackler's Revenge"

  • That amp sounds like shit

  • 22 people just QUIT playing guitar =D

  • lol 3:49

  • The Beast of Bumblefoot!!

  • Demencial O.O (que bien toca)

  • Anyone who thinks this is sped up obviously hasn't seen him live. This is in no way sped up.

  • He should use this guitar when playing live with GN'R

  • Fuck, what's the song when he's introducing himself? It's fucking sick.

  • It's sped up in parts when his hand leaves the guitar it swings unnaturally fast, he plays amazing enough with outhouse all that

  • @uilium He does it in every guitar suck video, so does mean that every guitar suck video is sped up? lol.

  • I love his playing - Ron Bumblefoot Thal is theman.

  • Bumblefoot just did the theme music for "Brimstone & the BorderHounds" the Animated series based on the book. great intro !! You tube it !!

  • @dirtydonki The amount of shit that comes out of your mouth is astounding. Please get a functional brain before speaking again.

  • @ShredST Next time you decide to fart please warn everyone and have the manners to excuse yourself. This is something your parents should have taught you but ofcourse, how silly of me, an after birth has no parents.

No wonder tossers like those listed previously get rich when tone deaf, moronic sheep like you rate their abissmal shit.

  • @dirtydonki dude can you play this stuff or why do you say this is so easy? i think it´s not really similar to MAB´s stuff.

  • @ShredST And the fact that he mentioned MAB like if he's Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane or Ron Thal makes his post (even more) laughable. Oh wait. Did I mention Ron Thal?

  • @brunopoeysvideos

come on dude, MAB isn't anywhere near as bad as you make him out to be. he definitely isn't better than guthrie or shawn. im not sure about bumblefoot, i haven't listened to much of his work so i can't judge, but MAB is still world-class and one of the most important shredders in history.

  • @Fluffypopcicle You can't judge Bumblefoot?? Haven't listened to much of his work?? That's interesting! Thank you, for finally admitting to your ignorance towards Ron's work. And now please refrain from downsizing the man, in any dimension whatsoever, compared to Buckethead. Unlike you, I OWN almost everything Buckethead has ever recorded and was one of the first to know (told by Bill Laswell himself) that he was leaving GNR. You sir have more faces than an oven full of gingerbreadmen....

  • @o0Slipdisc0o

i was being careful. i have heard quite a bot of ron's work, but i haven't heard everything and looked him up completely. i might have missed something crucial. and i have now. i checked him out even more and i still don't think he is better than buckethead. this is my opinion, back off. i don't want to get in ANOTHER argument about this.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Yo man!! I don't really know how you can compare Bumblefoot to buckethead... they are both really diffferent... the styles how they play and what they play is completely different... you can't just say yeah wel buckethead is better... NO buckethead plays in a way you like more... that would be a fair answer!! So don't act like a judge... just enjoy the music, thats all that counts;)

  • @marcjuh11

    No duh, read my comment.

  • @ShredST lol epic win

  • @dirtydonki

first of all, this guy doesn't sound like MAB. second of all, NOBODY can clone MAB. thirdly, who said he was trying to make the tapping look complicated? fourthly, kirk hammett does blow, but slash and buckethead are phenomenal guitarists. fifthly, you're judging him based off of one video. it's like people judging buckethead by a random shred video when they could be listening to the 50 quality solo cds he has released along with his bandwork. epic fail.

  • @Fluffypopcicle U need ur ears & eyes testing. Quite obvious that you have never studied music so I forgive your wanton rambings. Sl@sh is fucking shit. Fuckithead couldn't play a tune with any real accuracy whatsoever even if he had lessons till he died. As for Kock Helmet,,, there has never before in history been such an example of dire ineptitude. The man can't even play a pentatonic run properly. He is by far the biggest pile of shit to ever pick up a guitar & slaugher our poor ears with it.

  • @dirtydonki

rofl okay, whatever. it's not like anybody on this video will be convinced by you anyways.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Uh, if he thinks that Ron's thimble tapping is easy I'd like to see him doing that, because I've seen a lot of great guitar players struggling to play the thimble licks...

I'm not saying MAB is that bad (not as a technician, but as a musician...), but he definitely isn't as good as that guy thinks he is. Comparing MAB to Ron is laughable, Ron's a much, much better and more original musician - and guitarist as you may have noticed already.

  • @brunopoeysvideos

i disagree. MAB is the biggest shred pioneer along with yngwie malmsteen. he is easily more influential and just as original (but not more original). bumblefoot is easily the stranger guitarist, but MAB does things like nobody else. the way way he mixes his guitar with that one thing (i think it's a keyboard effect, but im not sure) like in time machine is very interesting and imaginative. it's easy to picture interesting scenes in my head when i listen to that.

  • @brunopoeysvideos

continuing: i will admit that he does overuse the sextuplet patterns. they are both phenomenal guitarists in my eyes and i think it's just a matter of opinion in this case. i won't say either one is better than the other. i see no reason to argue over this any longer, it's not like im trying to tell an jimmy page fan how much of a rip-off artist he is (seriously, he has stolen a lot of music).

  • @Fluffypopcicle

It's fifths... Not sextuplets... Groups of fifths.

  • @MaxBGuitar

    Quintuplets!

  • @gitarmats

    However. Five Notes. : p

  • @MaxBGuitar

Rythm groupings of five are called Quintuplets... It seemed you were looking for the word for it...

  • @gitarmats

Yes... I'm not that good explaining theory in English (and was too lazy to look in dictionary). But thanks for giving me the right word.

  • @MaxBGuitar

    No problem!

  • @MaxBGuitar

he does both. groups of fifths often with alternate picking (although it's blatantly obvious he uses lots of sextuplets too, demonstrated on his speed kills video of no boundaries) and sextuples with sweep picking (well, groups of six.)

  • @dirtydonki You shouldn't be talking. You should be sucking your dick in Bumblefoot's presence.

  • @NipplesMagee How novel. You must be his boyfriend or his mum. This guy is fucking shit.

Why can't you morons just accept it and move on? LOL

  • @dirtydonki Fuck off Troll, go act tough on 4Chan, Dolt.

  • @dirtydonki Another clueless troll, spreading some verbal diarrhea from his parent's basement. Next time you're saying something this stupid, please fake a stroke. Now hop on to your special needs tricycle and race back to the 80's. The era in which people like MAB, Vinnie Moore and Steve Vai were considered something special. Guitar gymnasts (= lol at you spanking your micro penis to MAB's over/under rubbish) who nowadays are eons upon eons behind musicians like Guthrie Govan and Ron Thal....

  • @dirtydonki Shut up dude.Ron Thal is an insane player. One of the most versatile as well.

Go back to your bedroom and play your Pentatonic scales.

  • @AstriBlair Just because my opinion differs to yours does NOT give you the right to be abusive so why don't YOU go back to YOUR shack and play with your minidick. Asshole.

    Bumblefoot and the joke band.

  • I tried to play guitar like Ron, but i can't, please help me !

  • Holy shit! This is too much for my ear drums. Just found out this is the new GNR guy. Can anyone tell me what song he starts out playing in this video?

    No wonder Satriani recommended him!

  • @damibru1 Guitars Suck from the 9/11 album.

  • does he ever pick:? haha

  • amazin', thank you for that great moment !

    really a great share ;-)

  • What the fuck!!! Holy mother god, haha

  • I love Guitars Sucks because it's one of the few guitar orientated songs that made my hip-hop liking brother ask "What's that? That's brilliant"

  • damn!, that vibrato reminds me of George Lynch... it's impressive...

  • @fatalbert51888 if you don't like him, then say you don't like him, don't say he sucks because he obviously doesn't, he's easily one of the best at tapping

  • what's with the long thumb nails. yuck

  • Tabs?

  • holy fuck .

  • WTF!

no vi el cosito en el meñique!

    Brutal técnica

  • G 'N R is just a gig for this cat....he could care less if Asshole...I mean Axl fired him tomorrow.

  • this guy is amazing but i personally like buckethead more

  • bumblefoot sux

  • @fatalbert51888 STFU... IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHIT DON'T WATCH IT DUMBASS..

  • @Estranged68 how wud i kno if i liked unless i watched it DIPSHIT

  • Toca bagaraio --'

  • I had no idea GNR had this kind of guitarist in it's band. Much better than buckethead, I agree.

  • @solidiquis1 I don't know if he's better than Buckethead skillfully but he's definitely better than Slash. Lol.

  • @MerlinBunny1 I've never seen Buckethead do anything this complex. Most of his soloing is chromatic.

  • Bumblefoot is better than Buckethead

  • I want this at my funeral , and i want the guitarist to be dressed like beetlejuice .

  • TAB ANYONE???

  • freaking master at work.

  • I am a huge Buckethead fan, and this Bumblefoot dude has something similiar to Buckethead's style so could someone suggest me some other songs of his?

  • @Georgiew1 Depends on what in particular you're looking for. For less weird sounding stuff, Turn Around is probably his most popular, for all-out crazy then Mafalda. A few of my favorite tunes: Lost (the tune he plays at the end of the YG lessons), T Jonez, Dummy, Freak (my personal favorite), Abnormal, Conspiracy, Go and Rowboat. Happy listening!

  • @ibanezbloke Thank you!

  • Guns N' Roses

  • "guitar sucks !"

    ;-)

  • haha, Exercise 1 = Exercise X-treme

  • omfg is this real?!?!?!?

  • I like his stuff, he has an original way of playing.

  • @crazyboyxx Noob

  • what is the name of the song ron thal play at start of the vidéo ?

  • @coolito67 guitars suck

  • @crazyboyxx Agreed, except for Jason Becker. Check out Perspective.

  • any tab ? ^^ hahahaha

  • dainggg he's good but i got a question...

im a guns n roses fan (old school guns n roses) and im not really interested in the new stuff axl and the other guys make(i dont call em guns n roses cause they aint guns n roses), and my question is, is what this guy here is playing what the new guns n roses sounds like?

( i hope that made sense)

  • @TheCastroson

Nah, this is Ron's solo music!

Quite different from the new GNR stuff.

Take a listen to some of the new songs and keep an open mind and see if you like it.

  • you can see the price tag still on the guitar and the tremelo arm hasn't been put it.

  • slash toca muito melhor que esse cara

  • Comment removed

  • lmao his name shouldnt be bumblefoot it should be thimblepinky xD

  • where can i get a tab for this?

  • Long left thumbnail = Coke addiction

  • @Lgw1984 Sure. If I grow out my left thumbnail, I'll automatically become a coke head, right?

  • why you fucking play LesPaul on stage?

  • why are his thumb nails so long?

  • Кайфово, четко и красиво звучит! Kewl!

  • my face just got malted!!

  • HE IS JEBUS!!!

  • HE IS GOD!!

  • Awesome! It is impossible to play neo-classical without sounding like Malmsteen, though.

  • @cfrancisco74

    Sure is with that attitude!
