  • Why are there so many pratts around like you. Get a life and let the police do their jobs. You are a complete an utter idiot.

  • Razia Butt - "section 44 can be seen to work because no terrorist attacks since 7/7" How do you figure that? Has any terrorist action that was planned been thwarted? Of all the stop and searches were any terrorists found? Ridiculous thing to say.

  • @ua751920 Yes actually, lots of terrorist plans have been thwarted since 7/7. Do you not read the news? How ridiculous to comment on something without knowing anything about it. Ridiculous thing for YOU to say.

  • @edjthompson Can you mention a single attack that has been thwarted by SECTION 44?

  • @ua751920 There is a daily mail article titled POLICE HAVE FOILED 15 TERROR PLOTS IN BRITAIN SINCE 2000, IAN BLAIR REVEALS. Do your research.

  • @edjthompson "There is a daily mail article" - says it all really. This is about a specific thing - SECTION 44 - do you understand that? The question therefore is, has SECTION 44 prevented any terrorist attack? The answer is NO. That is why the current government is curbing SECTION 44 powers.

  • @ua751920 The Government is doing nothing of the sort. They are still fighting against the EU on the issue, and rightly so. Have you even thought to yourself why you disagree with the powers held by police under S44? Because I can't understand what the fuss is all about. Just let them get on with their jobs. It's much quicker and constructive to just co-operate and go about your day after giving the police just a couple of minutes of your time.

  • @edjthompson At last you seem to be grasping the question. So I ask for the third time, Has SECTION 44 prevented any terrorist attack? You ask " Have you even thought to yourself why you disagree with the powers held by police under S44?" I have that is why I disagree with it, the question is have you thought about the implications of these sorts of powers? Take a look around the world today and think about how people are having to oppose police states. Lastly stop reading the Daily Mail.

  • @ua751920 I have thought about the implications, and I find them to be perfectly acceptable under the circumstances. There is very little you are sacrificing in comparison to what can be gained from the use of S44 powers. You rebelling for the sake of rebelling and your unwillingness to co-operate and offends me

  • @edjthompson "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." --- Benjamin Franklin a bright mind unlike yours.

  • We're all getting stopped under this law, not just the beardie or funny head scarf types. What about that white bloke that took the photo of the chip shop in Chatham or train spotters getting stopped under the act.

  • Section 44 is a law for Police Officers, it helps them search a person/s with no reasonable cause. Every single law is going to affect a group of people, from different races, religions, gender, age etc.

I am 16, stop and search act. I have been stopped and searched twice. (yes, I would like to become a Police Constable)
