UDOT - This is an idiotic plan. So, I now have to wait at ANOTHER light when I travel W/B in the morning from 700 E??? And, I can't use Pioneer as an alternate and drive behind the strip mall to avoid the stupid light already in place at Draper Peaks. This does nothing but add time to W/B travelers.

Also - what happens when the 'bulb' lane on E/B 12300 starts backing up into the main left lane of travel??? Stupid.

Looks like the lane would only accommodate 15-20 or so cars at a time, if this is to scale. Doesn't seem like it would be enough. And people coming off the freeway would have to jam into a single lane pretty quick, to be in position to get into the u turn lane. Hmmmm.

2:06 (yellow car) to 2:30 (multiple lane changes in an intersection) depict Utah drivers perfectly. Maybe Draper is getting kickbacks from the auto insurance companies.

@darkocchi Yeah, the more I watch this the more I see that it's not really an improvement. Turning left turns into U-turns only moves the traffic and will still create delays on 123 west bound by adding one more light to stop for. This was a dumb idea, the only way I see this working is if they elevated the u-turn lane to keep it from stopping tragic.

I can see this working as long as everyone doesn't drive like the red car taking out the green car at 3:43!

I would have to agree. Utahns can't even use a round-about correctly let a lone try to figure this mess out!

@bubbakor0327 I agree, I can just see this confusing people. Half the time they ingore the right turn only signs in this area.

This does not strike me as a good idea. It is only going to confuse the dim-witted Utah drivers and create accidents. And yes, I live in Utah.
