  • 0:11 LOL!

  • That ride is disgusting!!!!

  • This video has almost 50000 views and not a single dislike?! I'm not surprised.

  • @Unafraidcross Don't make me be "that guy"

  • What a snare! :O

  • :35 I was like "GO BACK TO AARON"

  • 4:38 epic spencer hair flip

  • has anyone else realised that theyre playing the Breakdown from "Who Will Guard the Guardians" after they finish "Everyone looks so Good from here" ... with Aaron drumming?

  • @scoobaseth They've been playing that as an intro/outro for multiple songs for a few years now.

  • @scoobaseth he wrote that song before he left.

  • Snare sounds beast

  • 3:48 through the fill is just majestic! :D

  • Such a beast man!! He is doing things I comprehend here! :O

  • chris and his keyboard-core trips me out..lmao

  • from 3:31 to the end it sounds a lot like Who Will Guard The Guardians

  • @andresruval it was who will guard the guradians. this was back when they were first writing it, and aaron wrote the drums anyway. idunno anything about the lyrics. but yeah!

  • what are the cymbals?

  • @WhenFearsFail meinl byzance series.

  • @ryanoathpradaforce I know they are byzance but what sizes and there a lot of kinds of byzance. jazz, dark, bright, etc.

  • @WhenFearsFail byzance traditional, 22's and 24' ride. 14' byzance dry hats

  • jjajjaja they`re so crazy!!!

  • why so many hard feelings towards aaron from the other members when he left? he had a huge part to play in making them successful so what if he disagreed on the musical direction he added more variety

  • @Danz2003 which hard feelings, what are you talking about? They all discussed it, and therefore agreed that it was best if he left. He wanted to focus more on his side project "The Almost" and have a little more time with his family I guess :)

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 ya i know but what i meant was when the rest of the band members all say he kept them from being heavier and that theyre happier now and everyones on the same page. they just sort of imply that theyre mad at him.

  • @Danz2003 Aaron has never been a metalhead like the other band members, so sometimes they had to go on compromises and make the music softer. Now when he's gone , everyone in Underoath can use their full potential, so I guess that's why they're happier. But even thought it kinda indicates that they're angry with each other, they still aren't. They discussed it, and even Aaron himself thought he was better off leaving and playing in The Almost.

    At least that's what I've heard :D

  • @ALFREDsurfer08 oh i see in my opinion though everyone not being on the same page isnt always a bad thing because it gives the music more variety and opens the music up to a bigger fan base. personally i think most people miss aarons influence in the band and i dont think theyd of came this far without him being in it,but if theyre all happy then thats good.

  • from 3:32 it sounds like "Who Will Guard The Guardians" from the new Ø (disambiguation) album :oooooooo

  • @AaronClarity holy crap it IS who will guard the guardians!! i had heard aaron was part of writing that song, i guess its not a rumor!

  • 1:06 - 1:15 That's how everyone should play!

  • 2.34 Chris is hysterical to watch.

  • Holy crap!!!

Is Aaron playing an experimental version of "Who Will Guard The Guardians" off Disambiguation?

Listen to the last minute and a half of the video and listen, sure sounds like it.

  • @robertneville777 he sure was. aaron wrote that song.

  • love the drumming, love that snare drum, whats with the shorts though?

  • The outro or whatever you wanna call it on this song is on their new album. The last half of who will guard the guardians is 3:20 - 4:56.

  • is he using a truth kit? cuz if so, that's just awesome sound

  • @MrxXReptarXxSir if you really know about aaron you would know he uses 15" byzance dark hats and 2 22" byzance medium crashes and a 24" byzance medium ride. And until now when he sarts using his Sig II kit his set up was:

    26x16

    13x9

    16x14

    18x16

  • @niggazach close man, but it was a 26x14 bass, 16x16 floor, and 18x16 floor.and he used 1 22" medium crash and 1 mb20 crash. other stuff correct though.

  • @niggazach meinl doesn't even make 15" byzance dark hats, he used to use 14" dark hats but now he uses 15" traditional hats. i can't believe i know that lol.

  • @niggazach WRONG.. 26x14.

  • @niggazach nah..it's 24x16

  • @tim31my Just because the outro used here is used in that song doesn't mean he wrote it. Daniel plays the drums differently anyways.

  • i really freakin hope this is on their new album.

  • @ryanoathpradaforce haha no this is from define the great line dude.

  • @steadric i know, i was referring to the ending of the video. my bad haha.

  • @ryanoathpradaforce dude the end is on their new album, it's the end half of who will guard the guardians. holy crap.

  • you can really here how ballsy his kit sounds in this video. cymbals, snare, kick, etc..

    5*

  • best underoath performance ive ever seen haha these guys are sickk

  • is he using iron cobras?

  • @ryanoathpradaforce DW 9002's

  • @ryanoathpradaforce he uses DW 9000 series kicks

  • Aaron,com back to Underoath

  • holy god. theres alot of people there.

  • aaron at 4:35. i think he hit his drums a little hard.

    :D

  • wow never seen james headbang before.

  • 1:34 = bass drum orgasm

  • aaron hardcore past still leaks into new underoath

  • hahaha tim at 1:09

  • shame he's leaving underoath now :( he was the only original member.

  • Also he uses evans EC snare head for the top and evans hazy 300 bottom snare head...alont with a pure sound 20 strand snare wires.....just in case u want a replica snare

  • so anyone know what size his cymbals and snare are in this vid?

  • he has a 14" x 8" Snare... he has meinl Byznace series 14" dark hi hat- 21" medium byzance traditional crash- 22" byzance medium traditional crash- 24" byzance medium ride traditional...hope this helps...i know alot bout aaron he is my role model

  • @dtyson777 im pretty sure his cymbals are meinl byzance 20" and 22" crashes and 24" ride. im not certain on that though.

  • @OCDP187 no his crashes are 21 and 22 inch byzance, 24 byzance ride, 14" super dark byzance dry hats

  • @coreysgarage no his cymbals are (2) 22" byzance medium crashes 24" medium ride and 14-15" dark hats

  • his snare sounds so sick there i wish i was there.

  • WOOOOO i love that double Bass aaron does now a days he hardly uses his Double pedals but on old old albums he was Really murdering

  • loll

at 0:22 it looks like he hits the cymbal with his head

  • at 1:14, right at the bottom middle...the security guy in yellow falls over...anyone see that???

  • no but now i do! lol. elijerr do a cover of this song. or one of there other ones. i want to see you do it!.

  • his snare....omg

  • tight!

  • *TO CLEAR UP CONFUSION*:

The box that Aaron is stomping on is a Boss FS-5U. It's a footswitch that connects to his Boss DB-90. When stomped, it changes to the next preset on his metronome. If you pay attention, right after he stomps it they go in to 6/8.

  • Thanks for clearing that up dude.

can you tell me wearing thwe video he uses it coz i cant see it =[

do you know if it has an instant response...like could you use it within a song? or is there a tiny delay?

  • At :42 watch hit hi-hat foot. It stomps on a box.

  • its to change the pitch of the bass drum. its like a guitar pedal(to change the sound of the guitar) he hits it and the mic sends a signal to the board changeing the pitch.

  • no, its his metronome

  • @jmoatticus Ugh, no.. Are you counting it at all? At 2:46 it's rather difficult to count, but at 2:58 it becomes obvious and very easy to count.

  • Ugh, yes. around 0:40. the one you are talking about, he was in 6/8 a couple measures before he kicked it.

  • @jmoatticus That's half time buddy at 0:40. He more then likely hit it that time to go from a quarter or eighth note count to a sixteenth note count for that really slow breakdown coming at 1:20. It's less confusing that way. I think at 1:33 when he plays sixteenth notes on his foot it pretty much says what he's listening to on his metronome.

  • @jmoatticus ... I already told you it's a lot less confusing to have sixteenth or eighth notes playing on his metronome at that quarter note breakdown. Could you imagine playing that breakdown, with only quarter notes? Naturally, you'll be a lot tighter if you've subdivided the sixteenth or eighth notes to quarter notes, instead of just hearing quarter, and playing quarter.

  • @OutOnTheDay I'm not so sure it's the FS-5U since that's a non-latching pedal... I'm thinking the FS-5L

  • @boket5u LOL? No, you're wrong and that makes absolutely zero sense. NON-latching pedals are momentary, while latching pedals aren't. A latching pedal would just keep cycling through the tempo list until you hit it again to unlatch it. With a NON-latching pedal you only hit it once, and you only move up on your tempo list once.

  • @OutOnTheDay The Boss description reads that it only stays there as long as your foot is on the pedal, while the latching pedal is the complete opposite.

  • @boket5u Exactly? lol. The unlatched pedal is meant to be momentary and stops as soon as your foot lifts. The latched pedal will keep sending a signal even after you're foot lifts until you push down on it again. Therefore, if you are using a latched pedal with your metronome, it will cycle forever through your tempo list until you push down on it again. Using an unlatched pedal fixes this because it's momentary and stops as soon as your foot lifts.. Look how fast Aaron is stomping his.

  • @OutOnTheDay man, I must be brain dead. Lol, I was about to buy one but then I saw where it said that and I backed off and almost bought the 5L. Thanks for clearing that up!

  • this whole song/performance is sick...but i love 4:30 ... incredible

  • My God.... That Snare Sounds Like A Gunshot Shometimes!!!

  • 1:09

  • im not a drummer so dont insult me for not knowing but what is that box aaron pushes down with his left left leg a couple of times?

  • i "think" it changes the tone of the bass drum. maybe. probably.

  • Even live they play to a click. my honest opinion it has to do with something about that... Maybe a form of tap tempo? not sure

  • Or just an 808 sample

  • i think he might be controlling the click track through that.

  • dang thats a big crowd

  • dang he hits hard

  • thats officialy my favorite snare

  • Aaron is DISGUSTING, he's so good...

  • aaron is just amazing!

  • what's the name of that song at the end?

  • its all that song.. they just kinda added some stuff to it.

  • i CRACKED UP at 2:06 when security was carrying out a guy like upside down. XXXXXXXDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • hah jryager2

smart cookie you! but no i just love reading youtube comments; people think they know so much... yes those are his regular cymbals and hardware (minus the floating tom stand) but the drumkit was made in australia (hence why the name of this channel is what it is...)

  • it says in the description that the kit was made in the US and imported...

    kind of ironic.

  • cause this show was in austraila. sooo they had it made in usa then imported it. so aaron could play it in this show.

  • that rack tom looks too small to be a 12"

  • he usually uses a 13

  • Aaron has about 4 different kits. One is Orange. One is coke bottle blue. one is mlack with a red stripe. And he has this one. I'm sure not all of his sets are the same.

  • all his sets are the same but the red stipe vintage set has a 24" x 14" bass and he uses a 14" x 5.5" custome pig cloth graphis snare with the black and red stripe...he uses the same cymbals...exept with the black and red stripe he uses regular meinl byzance 14" heavy traditional hi hat, instead of dark hi hats

  • @MrxXReptarXxSir wrong. one of his kits has a 26 x 14 or 16 kick.

  • god this is why there soo good live!! they just dont go up there and play their songs straight off the cd. they add in stuff like at the end here, that not only sounds freakin awesome, but that sound is......it is underoath, you know.

  • is my hero aaron G seriously wearing manflops on drums? wow, what a dude to idolize :P

  • those aren't flops dude, they're Toms.

  • that snare is sick as hell. brass?

  • yeah. its a gold brass snare

  • at around 40 seconds in, he pushes something with his foot. anyone know what it is?

  • the pedal comes with the Boss DB-90 Dr. Beat Metronome and the pedal turns on/off the click

  • oh, right on. Thanks :]

  • tht is a 24 inch medium ride that he is killing haha

i m buying a 22 meinl byzance and i cant imagine how hard he has to hit to get a 24 to move like that

    haha

    hes great though

  • i dont think hes using his regular cymbal sizes in this vid. He changed his drum kit completely too

  • he is overseas he cant play his regular cymbals, weight restrictions.

  • oh that makes sense haha

    didnt realize that

  • how'd he get the drums there then? thats not true, those are his regular cymbals

  • nope its the same kind may not be the same exact ones, but they are the reg series and sizes

  • that kit sounds rediculous :)

  • man that snare must be loud

  • Im so happy i found this video!

  • What's the song? And Aaron is so amazing.

  • Comment removed
