  • you may point out , you should never use factory kimber mag in aluminum frame gun, it gouges up feed ramp in frame . seen on kimber .CDPs alot only use wilson combat ,tripp mags or kim pro mags ( why dont they at least give you 1 good mag with gun ) . as soon as i buy kimber i put wilson mag in it and eject the kimber mag in trash , i have done it on 13 new kimbers.

  • @MrAKFrost Thannks for watching.

  • Great review. Merry Christmas and happy new year

  • Huge flaw in your video for disassembly and reassembly. You should NEVER have the gun upside down or press the grip safety while taking the slide off or putting it back on. Kimbers have a Schwartz safety and you can shear the pin off if it is engaged, which would render the gun incapable of firing.

  • I couldn't tell by the video. The safety isn't ambidextrous, is the frame set up so that you could put ambidextrous controls on it like the CDP II? I really want this one, but no ambidextrous controls is pretty close to a deal breaker for me. (I'm ambidextrous but my woman is a lefty)

  • @hevyAccel The safety is only on the left side and it cannot be moved over or have another added.

  • How long was the break in period on this gun?

  • @pbplayer2007 It did not need a break in period. It has run flawlessly from round 1.

  • I watch a lot of videos about The Kimber 1911 misfeeds Etc; I even thought about the Sig P220 .45 any comments PLEADE email me.

  • @philly4458 Kimber does have their occasional hiccup but have not had any issues with mine. Kimber makes wonderful 1911s and if you are in the market I would strongly recommend them. Thanks for watching.

  • Thank you for your review. I am seriously thinking of buy a Kimbetr CDP 11

  • Have you experienced any issues with it ejecting casings up and to the rear, towards your head? I am thinking seriously about purchasing one and the two problems I read most about are poor quality magazines and the casings ejecting and hitting the shooter in the head. The magazine issue is easily resolved, but the other is a different story. Thanks for posting your video!!

  • @walleyekillercom The magazine that came with the firearm is complete crap. I picked up two Wilson Combat Magazines and have not had any problems with them. I have noticed the casings ejecting up and over on a couple occasions but for the most part they eject out to the right and away from me.

  • Sounds great, thanks for the information and thanks again for posting your video!

    George

  • Is the 88 because you're a nazi?

  • @Taintboy

Are you joking or just trolling? Either way, your comment is out of place.

  • @Gooberpeas2

Umm, I am legitimately asking. Who asked you?

  • @Taintboy

Ahh...this is a public forum. But maybe you're just too simple to realize that.

  • i like tht gun but i like the one right above that one, the CDP, it got a stainless steel slide and a aluminum frame also the trigger is match grade on the CDP 2, everything else in size is identical. i would go with the 4inch Pro, it will be used for the house no carry.

  • Shootin a Kimber with a Glock hat on... is that allowed? Just kidding. Nice vid.

  • What's that switch on the left side of the grip?

  • @Castleknight Saftey lever.

  • @edgedweapon88

Actually, I think he means the little switch on the lower rear of the left grip which, if I'm not mistaken, is the on/off switch for the lasergrips. The rubberized strap on the front of the grip is the momentary on/off switch for the laser. The little one is the main on/off switch.

  • @Castleknight - Down there about an inch from the bottom of the grip?

  • @Castleknight It's the on/off switch for the crimson trace laser grip

  • @Castleknight I think you might be seeing the on/off switch for the laser.

  • Awesome looking 1911. You gotta love Kimbers man; they make some great 1911's. I'm thinking of getting a Kimber 1911. I already have a Smith & Wesson 1911 and love it. But, I'd like to add a Kimber 1911 to the collection.

  • @jasonsg4111 Thanks for watching!

  • are u like in the army or the police force or somthing

  • @EvoWacko No just a normal civilian!

  • You want a challenge? Try being a LEFT handed GLOCK owner.

  • @VinnyS914 My girlfriend is and she hates it. She is going to get a Ruger SR9c as her next firearm which is ambidextrous.

  • @edgedweapon88 Did she ever see the S&W M&P series?

  • @VinnyS914 She has never shot one but has seen them. She likes her SR9 and XDm!

  • @edgedweapon88 My dealer let me shoot his 45, recoil was so low I thought it was a 9mm. Also the mag release is reversable.

  • I really like the Kimber, although my jammed, it was still one of the best shooting .45's. Great video, thanks.

  • @LKwood58 Thanks for watching!

  • I just subbed. really like your videos. good quality keep em comin'!

  • @Alaskatooregon Thank you very much!

  • I read where someone else had the Kimber do this and they sent it back to Kimber and they fixed it so the casings ejected properly. I appreciate the video. I have been wrestling like crazy about getting one myself. I have never had anything fit in my hand that felt as good as this model. I'm still debating on whether to get a 9mm Kimber (I know this model only comes in the 45) and adding the grips to it. Trouble is, it's about next to impossible to find a 9 mm Kimber

  • @kantucky It doesnt happen often. Most of the time it ejects properly without a problem. Yea Kimbers in 9mm are extremely hard to find. I wanted to get one but I always like to hold a firearm before hand. Have you considered a springfield EMP? That will be my next 1911!! Thanks for the kind comment!

  • @edgedweapon88 I have indeed considered the EMP and to tell you the truth, I liked the way it felt above the Kimber ( ever so slightly though) but...I really also wanted to put Crimson grips on it. I contacted Crimson Trace and they told me that they have no plans to make them for the pistol in the next six months and I also contacted Springfield and they told me that they had no plans to do so either.

  • @kantucky That sucks. The EMP with some crimson trace grips on would look awesome. I guess the only option is to go with a Kimber then. Well whatever you end up going with let me know. I always like to hear what people end up choosing!

  • One of those brass hit you in the forehead? I always wear glasses but if you needed it in a self-defense situation, it would be bad indeed to have one hit your eye

  • Yes a brass casing hit my forehead. I usually wear eye protection but I forgot it that day. But you are correct in a self defense situation you would not be wearing eye protection and hot brass in your eye would not be a good thing.

  • Great and detailed review, dude. Was wondering when you were gonna get around to this one.

  • Thanks for watching man! I appreciate the kind comment.

  • Shooting a Kimber in a Glock cap? When you own a Kimber cap? Oh no!!! :-)

  • I do own a Kimber hat but not at the time of the video.

  • I posted a response on a better way (IMHO) to take this weapon down.

  • I just watched your response video and I have seen that tool before. I do think that is a better way to break down the gun but unfortunately it will not work for Pro(commander) size 1911s. The tool was designed for Ultra(officers) 1911s and it says so on their website. The way you demonstrate in your video is better for your Kimber Ultra but not my Kimber Pro.

  • VERY NICE!!

    Beautiful gun my friend!!

  • Thank you sir!

  • That's a drawn out take down.

  • I was trying to show a detailed field strip regardless of how drawn out it was.

  • That wasn't meant to be disrespectful or anything. I understand why do did it, I meant it as kind of a "Why would they make it that long" sort of thing.

  • I apologize. I didn't think of it that way. Thank you for clearing that up. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • No problem. It's hard to discern tone over text comments. :)

  • Very true!

  • VERY well done as usual.Fav'ed both vids.If you want a tool pm me it's free to you.5*s on both vids.

  • Thank you very much Bill. I always enjoy your comments. Thank you very much for watching.

  • Nice video, what kind of ammo were you shooting? It is true smokeless powder. Some of the guys you see shooting, looks like they are using black powder. Yours was nice and smoke free.

  • For practice I shoot Blazer. I keep Remington Golden Saber loaded in the gun. Thanks for the comment!

  • You can post a video about this gun everyday and I swear I will watch it! As I mentioned before you have great taste and that is an awesome M1911a1

  • Thanks so much for the kind comment!

  • Realy nice piece of gun.

  • Thank you!

  • Beauty :D
