@ejrandall Nice to see the word geniuses here! Instead of ballplayers, MUSICIANS are my heroes, and in good music, THERE ARE NO LOSERS !!! My channel is a hall of fame for a century of worldwide music. 630 playlists for over 400 artists, every year since 1900 & dozens of genres. Stop by and let me know if I've skipped anyone. My 1952 list plays GS' rendition of Lullaby of Broadway. chuck
@ejrandall As I listened to this again after your reply, another insight opened up to me: This is not just jazz, it's also BOSSA NOVA !!! I don't know if insidious is the right word, but the bossa beat has infiltrated every genre of music since the early 1960s, especially poop & even crossover country. I've got about 7 bossa playlists, even the 'elevator' type music is half bossa! chuck
@chkjns In mad magazine they had a star trek musical where they change the lyrics to songs you know they used aquarius [ as you travel to the stars and orbit around mars do not kill of your stars and you can do it with a cast that is expendable expendable expendable...]
When I was a teenager I´ve listened to his record with the Montgomery Bros, I felt like his piano was smiling for me. Thanks for this wonderful feeling, George.
R.I.P George Shearing. Legends like George are never going to be made in this present era. I have to say 91 yrs old is an impressive life especially for a Jazz musician!
Hi Jazzfriends, I'm happy to invite you to enjoy a new free walking bassline clinic, type in "Dave Frank" bassline on YT
I guarantee an educational and entertaining time:)
Blessings and keep swingin!
God bless you George Shearing!
