I can't watch more than the first minute or two. This is an abomination and anyone who brings this trash into a church is guilty of blasphemy. Once again, the "church" is influenced by the world, not the other way around.
I was at this service with my teenage kids and it was amazing! The series on relationships was awesome and taught abstinence until marriage and faithfulness within marriage. Thanks, GCC, for speaking the truth about God's Word to a generation that needs to understand how to make relationships last!!
Wow this is kind of cool and entertaining, too bad this has absolutly nothing to do about Jesus and his substitutionary death on the cross and his imputed righteousness to those who believe, but I guess the couple will go to hell happy. That's what your church is all about isn't it to experience happiness. Go to hell happy in the Christless seeker friendly church.
If there's one thing is hate about youtube, its scrolling down expecting to find comments about a video, but instead finding a 3 page long rant between two people about something barely related to the video. Leave the freakin morals out of it. it's just a cute production, no need to get on your high and mighty judging pedestal. Just watch the friggin vid. PS you guys rocked!
So...uhh...correct me if I'm worng but aren't Christians supposed to build each other up and not tear each other down? It's hard enough in this day in age to be a Christian. WE get flack from other people...we don't need it from our brothers and sisters.
With all the 100' big screen TV's, the slick plexiglass acoustical drum enclosures, spot-lights and multi-homed camera locations, what I don't understand is, isn't there some soup kitchen that may have put that money to better use? Do we REALLY need to see pastor Pete's acne 100' tall, hi-def and in 3 different angles? Could we have gotten away with one less camera angle and put that towards a battered woman's shelter? When Jesus decends on his cloud of glory, what will he say, I wonder..
He'll probably say, good job! Our church distributed six semi trucks loaded with food last December. We have a local community center that distributes food, and also has an alternative education program and we hope to expand and provide more services to the inner city poor. We are building new Churches in India. The technology you see is used to bring more lost souls to the Lord, and it does work! The big screen is only 48' by the way. LOL
Well, if he doesn't, *I* will: Nice job and all of humanity thanks you. Let that be your reward and not the promise of life ever-lasting. We need a new church where talented people like these can express these cultral truths without the over-shadow of damnation. Cultural Truth?: Kids want to try sex. It's biologically programmed. Instead of the brimstone approach, what about a live musical performance about the potential reprecussions of that decision? Not, "because Jesus said so" or BURN.
I am a Christian so I believe in an afterlife, but I do agree with you. I don't know where this quote is from but the jist is this; I have more respect for an athiest who does good things because he wants to be a better person, than I do for a Christian that does good things because they want to get into heaven.
I do the things I do because I want the world to be a better place for all of us. I think if you do good works just to go to heaven your motivation is wrong.
Then you, sir, have my utmost respect and I mean that. I honestly wish there were more Christians like you. To conceptualize a person's worth by their actions and not their belief is, honestly, a big step. No one belief or person has the exclusive right to a true moral compass; providing that compass doesn't stray too far from north. As you succinctly put, "..you do the things you do to make the world a better place.."
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we, as Christians, supposed to build each other up and not tear each other down? Does the whole "Iron sharpens iron" mean nothing to some of you? WE get enough flack from the world to be Christians, we don't need it from our brothers and sisters.
One other thing though, this performance rocked. Say what you will about not keeping "on God's message" but everyone, from the drummer to the bass player to the sax player and ensemble cast and even camera crew put in an A1 performance here. ..and yes, as if on cue, the all-too-familiar Holier Than Thou Chistians make their appearance and this time, spew their poisonous, venomous, life-sucking critique and direct it at one of their own. Jesus, save us all from your followers.
I know Jesus never tried to engage the culture. That's why he used parables about farming and fishing and was called a drunkard and a friend of sinners. Your right, we should all hide in our Christian clubs. View and speak to everyone outside of our club in condescending terms that they don't understand.
The body has many parts. There are different expressions. Each unique part is required to bring the kingdom of God to this earth. Why are we so hostile towards differences in methods?
Hello, people at GCC. To paraphrase "The Wizard of Oz"...pay no attention to these idiots who hide behind their curtains (computers) and throw out false accusations and misquoted scriptures. I know your hearts are set on reaching the un-churched for Jesus, and I have NEVER seen you guys do anything contradictory to scripture. GOD BLESS YOU, GCC!!!
Maybe if the song was a parody of the Grease song and not the actual song, one wouldn't immediately associate it with pre-marital summer sex. It's the same problem my church had when they used "What What (In the Butt)" in a musical about the Passion. Foolish Pharisees immediately associated that song with anal sex JUST BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL IS ABOUT THAT! Not very Christian for people to associate a song about lust with lust. Context, people!
This is truly amazing. The amount of "love" displayed here. When people write things like "it makes me ashamed to be a Christian", honestly, people, it's this kind of internal bickering that turns people off. Context is key here. We were earnestly engaging culture (not supporting) and using Biblical truth to teach what God says about relationships. For clarification, we (bald guy & blonde) are married. Pastor made that clear at the end. Judging a church by 6:27 of video is not Matt 7:2-4.
You've all got it all wrong. You're not going to bring a youthful audience into any churches, period. The church is dead. Not because Satan prevailed but because logic, reason, discovery and dare I say, evolution killed the church. No longer can you scare the youth with your stories of eternal damination. They're too smart and too educated. It's a last gasp, a dying breath of a pathetic and antiquated and soon extinct belief system based on superstition, conjecture and falsehood.
i disagree with you! No one at GCC is trying to scare anyone into anything, they're putting the TRUTH out their so that people can realize that there is a God out there who cares about us and wants the best for us. Churches are not supposed to scare us into being good or else we'll go to hell, we should do good because we love God and want to show our love for him in our actions. THAT is what GCC is all about.
GCC is awsome, I love how they use the things of this world that many use to pull people from Christ to actually get people to Christ, keep it up GCC.
I'm not saying we're not supposed to fear Hell only that the fear of Hell shouldn't be what is causing us to go running to God. It should be a longing for our creator, to make our lifes complete and fill in that gap that is there in our lives without him. That God loves us all and cares enough to do what's best for us in the long run is something we should appreciate and praise him for. GCC is trying to get as many ppl to that point of realization as possible
The leadership of Granger community Church needs to repent and lead the congregation in true obedience to the scripture and Gospel of Jesus Christ, before it's to late.
THIS is one of the reasons I don't participate in Youth Ministry-so sad to see youth diverted from the Lord.
James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Just wondering were in the video does it says they were having sex before marriage although i don't think this is Christianly because of the music and that they look like the rest of the world but i don't see were it says anything about sex before marriage i heard him say he was married or is and the summer lovein could just mean they were in love over the summer i only ask you this because maybe im missing something here so if you could let me know that would be great thanks and God Bless you!
I don't see what Christians are getting excited about this is the Georgia Community College drama team. This has nothing to do with Christianity. Why would anyone ever think that?
Come on now folks, be nice. Don't you remember Paul and Barnabas doing musicals at Mars Hill? I mean the bible says clearly that our primary focus is to entertain the Goats.
Ha! I'm listing to them right now! But I can only listen to the radio show in small doses. Todd Friel get WAY to rambunctious and I often have to use mute.
Okay, here's an idea, lets just forget looking to the Bible for our guide to honoring God in relationships...as we all know, that stuff's way to boring...
I will be praying for these people that they did this out of ignorance. Maybe they thought it was "Love". And not realize it is talking about sex. Of course I am not saying sex it bad, it is the meaning of the song (the context of it). Lust, sexual pleasure, not about true love for one another. As were suppose to be as were are to the Lord. Men are to imitate Jesus and women are to imitate the church. Study Love in the bible and you'll know how you should act. I will be praying for this church.
I can certainly understand a church ministering to the reality of broken morals, but this is just in incredibly poor taste. "She was good, if you know what I mean?" Come on brothers and sisters, as you strive for cultural relevance you dilute the authority of your witness! As Alistair Begg once said If you marry the spirit of the age, you will be widowed in the age that follows.
I don't promote Broadway in terms of being a ministry for God, what makes this any different, and why would a believer support this? (Simply saying the word "Jesus" intermittently doesn't count. The Muslims have the word "Jesus" in the Quar'an, too. They give glory to him as being merely a prophet, not the Son of God. I don't see much difference in giving Him glory because "He got you a date" and not honoring Him for being the propitiation for believer's sins.)
What I would like to know, is; was this part of a church function to reach the lost and is there MORE behind this video, say like it's wrong to commit adultery or to have sex before marriage? In which case, there should be a part 2 explaining the lascivious bent of the song being sung. Or was this maybe a non-church function whereby GCC rented out it's facilities to a non-Christian organization?
This is really sad! The leadership must be in bad shape to allow this kind of junk in front of their congregation. I don't even want to think of what perverse things the leadership must allow into their homes -- in front of their families. Isn't the Gospel of Jesus Christ enough? Why not just preach it? People blaspheme the Name of Jesus Christ because of junk like this in the church. They should be ashamed for doing this kind of song in church - REPENT!
So.....does GCC stand for "Greatly Corrupted Church"? Maybe "Godless Children of Confusion" Why would you sing songs about lust and promiscuity in a supposed house of the Lord?
