  • I saw both of them at 3 olympias live in 93,94 in atlanta and in chicago in 96 and Yates won easy....both had their strengths and weaknesses but Yates had the size and hard grainy look that no one else had...he just stood out from the crowd and was more consistant...remember he did win several grand prix shows in addition to his olympia wins in front of different judges against the same athletes so there must have been something special about him.levrone looked good too but not as good as Yates

  • people will say Yates had a torn bicep(which is true) but you have to remember Levrone had a torn pec.Being at the shows live i can tell you Levrones' pec tear was more noticable due to it being a larger bodypart and much harder to hide on stage.Also too Yates competed 6 weeks after tearing his bicep which tells you about his tough character,a lot of other athletes tore muscles and wouldnt compete for a whole year..yates never lost a show after his first O win..levrones' placing were up and down

  • Why is he wearing lifting straps while doing calf work? He is not using 'em so why wear 'em?

  • Having lifting straps on your wrists will prevent extra blood going to your arms and upper body by cutting off circulation. This way he gets more blood to his leg muscles for more growth. yeah.

  • I always figure that it take genes to build big calves. I could be right or wrong, but nothing changes from the results that you get from the hard work you put in it.

  • @Colossus1281 I used to think that way until I saw a person built calves. My friend didn't have good genetics, they were small. But he alternated hi-rep sessions with heavy days.

  • HEy man, whats up with the low rep scheme for calves.. I thought since your always walking, abnd using your legs and calves, that you should hit the with a higher rap range, like 12-15?

  • i split my body in 3 parts wich i train in a row then 1 day break for me that is enough

  • Wide, Soft soled trainer`s are dangerous to train with- no support. Please look it up!- safety first.
